I'm a Pole and from some Czechs I hear that Czechia is more religious than it seems, but a lot of people simply don't tell government censuses their religion.

I think this is mostly a mentality going back to when our countries were ruled by communists.

Also, thanks for giving us St. Adalbert of Prague and converting us dirty pagans. :3

I think the Church in Europe is making a huge mistake by not hardcore evangelizing. Like half the people on this board are former atheists or nihilists, a lot of people just need to be shown the way to God and they'll follow it.

A lot of people can be converted if priests and bishops act now.

Yeah, but it's the usual postmarxist mumbo jumbo. I remember talking to a girl who said "I don't believe in God, but I think there is something like an energy or whatever." The common sense should tell you that this "energy or whatever" is worthy of being called God but most people stop thinking after the point they come to the conclusion that:

It has to do with the history of the country in my opinion. Back during the Reformation, Bohemia became largely Protestant but after the religious wars and the Peace of Westphalia there was an effort to re-convert them to Catholicism. I guess after that it's similar to the Baltics and Bosniaks… after that point, religion just never "sat right" with them.

Seriously, i want to cringe even more than usual when i hear fedoras screech about how X society is super irreligious, so the obvious solution is to be even more obnoxious and critical of religion, to get their perks.

I mean, c'mon, the only reason those societies stopped going to church is because a ton of lukewarm got too apathetic to do even that.

If they want to become atheistan 2.0, the logical measure is massive not-giving-a-crap-about-anything-important, give a comfy life to them, and shelter them from the nasty part of war, so they don't think about the nasty, metaphysical aspects of life, not be an obnoxious dick that keeps repeating the same tired memes.

On a side note, Czechs have the lowest voting attendance ive ever seen(which is also a nice counterargument to people that think mass absenteeism is supposed to be some weird silent revolt that will determine politicians to get their stuff together).

So, i think this general apatheism is also cultural.
