Will most Christians eventually be Chinese? Christanon 01/13/18 (Sat) 20:32:05 3ecda1 No.588500
How long until China is the most Christian country in the world?

China is increasingly ultranationalistic, I expect a rejection of Christianity to grow over time, especially as more people become rich and the state gains more legitimacy (Chinese people I know say that the current leader is extremely popular and has an enormous cult around him).

The most recent projections I've seen have been 2030, so a little under 12 years. I don't know how up to date those calculations are though.

Things might not go so well anymore, but i hope they don't abandon Christian Faith

I'm thinking that China is already suffering from very similar issues to Mexican Catholics- excessive integration/reimagining of the old paganism occult stuff into Christianity. While I pray for their conversion and hope for the best, it's no joke that a lot of Chinese Christians aren't scripturally sound and still perform ancestor worship/herbal medicine/extreme superstition bordering on devil worship.

I don't think MOST Christians will eventually be Chinese but I think MOST Chinese will be Christians.

(I think most Christians will be from some country in Africa)

I, at least, hope to one day be Chinese.

The Roman Empire was also quite nationalistic in its literal imperial cult. Look at how that turned out for them compared to how it turned out for the Christians it sought to oppress.

One of the challenging things about Asian countries like China is being able to explain Christian doctrine through the Chinese language which is hard to do. They can't conceptualize it as well, their language didn't develop like ours and has remained largely isolated from Christianity and other Abrahamic faiths. They don't have the proper words for it. There's even debate among Chinese Christians about what to exactly call God because, depending on the words used, they can mean radically different things.

Don't know. Guess that's God's business anyway. I will earnestly pray for it to happen though

EVERY language and people had this problem.
Greeks had this problem, too, so Paul and later leaders/prophets/evangelists invented or co-opted words to make them mean what they wanted.
This will happen in China, too.
