what are your thoughts about this and how to bear mockery and offense without looking defenseless (e.g. just passively enduring and immediately forgiving)? because not fighting back is often met with even more violence (vocal, physical, ..) in this world.

of course course humorous discussion which of both is more right is also allowed

while i find the way they resist kinda brave and goodhearted, it is the exact thing i was talking about in the OP: the response to passive enduring is just more violence. the defenseless curling up of the catholics is not answered by empathy or a moment of reflecting - it just makes them want to punch harder. this is also not a singular occurence - it's very common.

so how can passive enduring be the answer if it achieves nothing? thanks for your answer and the video - but while it is an answer, i was kinda hoping for something better explained

Just like arguing with liberals. It's about merely resisting and making a stand. Every stereotypical argument has a counter answer. Fighting fire with fire only makes the fire more intense. That is why when Jesus was heckled then he was calm and when the enemy was calm in the temple he unleashed his fury. If you act in the same negative way as your detractors then you lose.
