can anyone help with arguments against this

>anti-public prayer

Only for reasons of pride.

>anti-slut-shaming, never anti-gay

In Matthew 15:19-20, Jesus clearly condemns adultery and sexual immorality. His warnings against adultery also appear in the Sermon on the Mount. Clearly, He was and is against both promiscuity and homosexuality since they fall under adultery and sexual immorality, respectively.

>never mentioned abortion

But He did mention murder in the passages already listed earlier.

>radical

radical but not in a leftist and right political kind of way, like is implied by the following.

>hung out with hookers, and crooks

here is where it starts, it's not like he accepted or approved of this behavior. He also helped pagan gentiles, but that doesn't mean hes was for them.

>anti-weath

>anti-death penalty

The bible says to obey the government, and for men to be provider's to their family.

>but was never anti-gay

What was that church that Jesus spoke against, the one church that lost it's way that had a lesbian woman in it? Regardless the bible is clear on homosexuality.

>never mentions abortions or birth control

It also never mentions masturbation, but if you understand the principals of what God is teaching it's obvious that he wants you to make a family, and multiply each other, to only have sex for procreation.

>Never called the poor lazy

Sloth is a sin.

>never justified torture

this one is kind of ambiguous.

>never fought for tax cuts for the wealthiest nazarenes

He spoke against the false jews. This is a clearly adolesent leftist mind set that religious people are lumped with conservative.

>long haired

Was did he actually have long hair? The bible informs to not let men have long hair

>anti-slut shaming

He was for purity, despite teaching compassion, he was against sexual promiscuity.

>jew

The word Jews has a different connotations for before Christ and after. what people call Jews today would be tribes who don't believe in the Jewish messiah, which the bible calls false Jews.

>Leper

What is this, is it someone with leprosy, searching the word brought nothing.

It's just another personal Jesus for leftist for feel knowledgeable or smug about, just like the European, Japanese, Gnostic or new age Jesus.

Hmm, sounds like your "friend" has never read the Bible before as there is never a description outside of revelation 1 of Jesus's physical body. It's a amazing coincidence that paul in romans 1:26-27 repeats what is said in leviticus 18:21-23. Jesus is racist by only supporting the jews and not the (((jews))) or gentiles of the time until the time He ascended into heaven. But by then He was bigoted against all the world *john 3:17* except for men/christians. Jesus goes on to extend the definition of whore and adulterer in matthew 5:31-32. He most certainly justified physical punishment/torture by luke 12:47-48.

Then there's that part about hating the 2 samuel 9:8-9, 2 samuel 16:7,9, and 1 kings 22:38 do wolves/wolf puppies wash armor?. Jesus calls such things out in matthew 7:6 and matthew 15:26-27.

It's more of the deceived man's philosophy who foolishly thinks that if the government takes everything that they're give them back in the same way.

I'm still amazed that at posters on /leftypol/ (who have a communist christian flag) what want this kind of sensational dystopia.

>Jesus never mentioned—

Yeah, let's ignore the scriptures that Jesus cited from and the scripture of His followers after Him who learned from Him more intimately than anyone. If he didn't specifically condemn it by word of mouth even if the rest of the Bible does, Jesus must have believed the exact opposite!

That's basically what it is saying. Anyway, some of those are half true.

>nonviolent

<And when he had made, as it were, a scourge of little cords, he drove them all out of the temple, the sheep also and the oxen, and the money of the changers he poured out, and the tables he overthrew. (Jn.2:15)

>hung around with lepers, hookers and crooks

And preached the Gospel to them. He wasn't some beatnik bohemian, He was saving their souls. This is like saying defense lawyers are good friends with criminals.

>Wasn't American and never spoke English

Non-sequitur

>Was anti-wealth

Not really, He just knew that attachment to it is hard to overcome.

>Anti-Death penalty

No verses to back this up. Ergo if He never said it, He was against it.

>Anti-public prayer

He wasn't, His point was that you ought not show off with it.

>Never anti-gay

<But from the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother; and shall cleave to his wife. And they two shall be in one flesh. Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. (Mk 10:6-9)

>Never mentioned abortion or birth control

He never needed to, since His presence as a literal days-old foetus in the Visitation shows how early life begins. Also "birth control" lol what is marriage?

>Never called the poor lazy

Non-sequitur

>Never justified torture

<And his lord being angry, delivered him to the torturers until he paid all the debt. (Mt 18:34)

> anti-slut shaming

Ni🅱️🅱️a what? The fact that Jesus forgave the adulterous woman and spared her from death doesn’t mean she wasn’t a sinner. It was primarily because she was a sinner that his act of mercy was so special. And he did tell her to go and sin no more. Also Jesus most certainly slutshamed the Samaritan woman at the well.

af2081 No.576818

>brown skinned

The middle east wasn't always 90% arabs holy shit.

You can look at Mizrahi, who are light skinned. They descended from Middle eastern Jews of biblical times, so Jesus might have looked like them.

"And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.

Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works."

Proverbs 21:30

>hung around with hookers

>lepers

Luke 17:15-18

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

>crooks

Luke 20:46-47

"Beware of the scribes, which desire to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the markets, and the highest seats in the synagogues, and the chief rooms at feasts;

Which devour widows' houses, and for a shew make long prayers: the same shall receive greater damnation."

>never spoke English

"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you."

>anti-wealth

"And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness:"

>anti-public prayer

You mean anti-vain repetitions, public or private.

>never anti-sodomite

God calls them dogs, unbelieving, abominable, and fearful in Revelation 21 and 22.

>never mentioned abortion

Because that's a modern euphemism for murder

>never called the poor lazy

Categorically or just certain people? To confuse the two is sophistry from you.

>never justified torture

You mean of men by men? Or do you mean eternal torment in hell for sinning against Him without believing? John 3:18.

>never fought for tax cuts

This is just idiotic, wicked and deceitful, nothing else in this accusation of the Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ can be dignified with a response

a90556 No.576844

>>576756

>Jesus was a radical

Yes, but you can be radical for many different causes, radical doesn't mean leftist.

>Nonviolent

Debatable with the cleansing of the temple

>Revolutionary

He was not trying to overthrow the earthly government of Rome. That is what Jews thought he was doing and his failure to do that is what turned them against him

>Hung around with lepers

Sick people.. By no fault of their own.. Are conservatives against being friends with the sick?

>Hookers

Because it is not the healthy who need a physician, it is the sick. He called them to repent. He told the adulterous woman to go and sin no more.

>Wasn't American and never spoke English

True but so what? Conservatives hate anyone not American and English-speaking? I don't think so.

>Anti-wealth

Taught that wealth could be an obstacle to salvation, yes..

>Anti-death penalty

No evidence of this. The Pharisees tried to trick Jesus into either

a) saying the adulterous woman should be stoned, in which case he would be advocating vigilantism which was illegal in Rome, then they could have him executed

b) saying the woman should go free in which case Jews would turn against him for denying the laws against adultery

He bypassed that by pointing to their hypocrisy.

>Was never anti-gay

As a first century Jew he would have held to the same views on sexual immorality as everyone else he grew up with. The fact that he never comments directly on homosexual behavior should be taken as evidence that he had no problem with the prohibition if anything. If he was going to overturn such a rule he surely would have said so.

>Never mentioned abortion or birth control

Abortion was not common among first century Jews. It was a settled matter so why would he bring it up unless he was going to say it should be allowed? It's like assuming Jesus is pro-bestiality since he never commented directly on it.

a90556 No.576850

>>576844

>Never called the poor lazy

Obviously not all poor people are lazy but he does condemn laziness (Matthew 25:26).

>Never justified torture

I agree with this.. at least in the US though, torture being a conservative value is pretty recent, it started being pushed with Bush.

>Never fought for tax cuts

As a Jew in Rome he had no say over government policy.

>Never asked a leper for a copay

He was a private citizen voluntarily performing healing, it doesn't really relate to government healthcare

>Long-haired

According to who? Catholic paintings?

>Brown-skinned

Oh, so you suddenly disagree with the Catholic paintings when it comes to skin color. He probably had olive skin.

>Homeless

He lived like a nomad, staying with his followers as he taught and preached. But he wasn't out begging on the streets.

>Community organizing

He wasn't a political activist. His concern was for people's spiritual states.

>Anti-slut shaming

Go and sin no more. For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband.

>Middle Eastern

Again, irrelevant. He was not a Muslim which is what conservatives usually mean when they complain about the Middle East

>Jew

Ethnically, sure. Religiously his opponents were the Pharisees and modern Judaism comes from Pharisaism.

This is kind of an idpol thing targeting American Evangelical conservatives from American neolibs but blasphemy is still blasphemy. I think you have most of the answers you need from this thread. Basically Jesus and His message transcends petty socio-economic arguments of today.

It's worth nothing that he told the prostitute in John 8:08-11, "Go and sin no more" which is the equivalent of saying "stop being a slut".

The point of him assisting the lowly was to give them another chance to be in the proper path, not for them to continue their sin nor to end their lives for making a mistake.

>conservatives want sick people to die.

I know that you don't believe in it, but that talking point annoys me as it's deceitful. It's a myth because conservatives are opposed to the ACA, which requires everyone to pay for mandatory health insurance that isn't on a fixed rate under the consequence of being fined.

Jesus did heal the poor, but he didn't force them to pay increasing premiums with them penalized with a fine for not doing it. When you look at the bill, you'll see that it's the opposite of non-charitable.

Try to think of "community organizing" as something different than a "BLM protest". Organizing an event isn't the same as organizing a community. He and his followers big organized event was driving the corruption out of the Temple. His big community organizing event was "take up your cross and follow me", an event that has led to a community 2 billion strong.

Not too shabby.
