>are they truly worshiping the same God?
No, the first "church" is worshipping themselves. They can't be honestly called Protestant because they have no meaningful connection to the Protestant Reformation. They are children of the Enlightenment, not the Reformation
>these differences continue to snowball, and sects continue to fragment
There are only three Protestant groups which can meaningfully be called sects, Lutheranism, Calvinism and Arminianism. These three each came into existence before the Reformation ended. To call something such as, for example Presbyterianism a sect, or even worse, a specific Presbyterian denomination a sect, is to drain the word "sect" of meaning. Done consistently, this would mean an equal number of Catholic "sects" and Orthodox "sects", because what is meant by "sect" is really "any difference in any way whatsoever"
>this is why agreed upon interpretations are important, and scripture viewed outside of the lens of Holy Tradition is dangerous.
I've said it before, and I will say it again: When you see people twisting scripture into a pretzel, the solution isn't to find a man in a pointy hat to tell you what shaped pretzel to twist it into, it's to simply stop twisting scripture
