I want to purge myself of vices and such before i start college and work. if I have lots of money(it's not really college in the united statian sense im not anglophone) AND a vice it will be very bad becasue I can fulfill it.

a monastery life would cure me,im pretty sure.

has the tradition of monks taking in willing wanderers faded away? what do I do in this situation?

I don't see why not. It's not uncommon in Orthodoxy for a layman to live in a monastery for a few months at some point - in fact my spiritual father specifically told me to do so, when that becomes an option.

If you already know a friar shouldn't you ask him? I'm sure the policy would vary, but if the head of the monastery says it's okay then it's okay I guess.

my life is clean but my only issue is lust. major issue.

i even tried building a restraining device with a leather stripe to avoid erections but I broke the knot.

I wonder if just an stay can change me tho
