Pre-trib rapture theory was only popularized by Darby in the 1830s. The Bible says every eye will see and every ear will hear when Christ returns which rules out a secret, silent, invisible rapture. Some of the verses which are used to promote the idea that the saved disappear and go to heaven are actually about the wicked being destroyed.
