0da7d2 No.561088

I grew up in a very secular environment in Europe. No baptism/communion/confirmation for anybody including me, friends and family are all non-affiliated. I actually know nobody, who is openly Christian and I never was at church.

This year I don't know how I became a believer in Christ. My world view changed completely over night and I was suddenly 100 % sure that God exists, realized my sins, repented and started to forgive.

Since then I can fully understand Christians when they talk about faith, while in the past I was cringing at religious testimonials. At the same time I have the feeling I have to hide my power level now despite having a strong urge to spread the Good News.

How do Christians in similar circumstances deal with this?

This >>561092 to be honest. Lead by example, and let them know Him through your work. Just live a healthy life, surrounded by family and friends; you should be way better than most liberals dying their hair rainbow, eating junk diet, being sexually deviant, and have a better mental health due to not fighting everyone who does not agree with you all the time already.

Do not tell any anyone blatantly that you are going to church, you are not a bloody vegan. Let your actions be the lamp that light up your surroundings and speak for itself.

df796b No.561106

As a beginner it will be safest for you to avoid anything that would resemble preaching or teaching others about the faith… this is because it is very very easy to get a swelled head full of pride when you learn a cool new argument or something and get to use it and get the illusion that you have been some kind of instrument of God's grace in someone else's life when maybe all you did is accidentally mislead them or maybe just annoy them so they had to play along with you.

Humility is the soil in which prayer grows and as a beginner it is especially crucial that you establish regularity and consistency in prayer and work hard to develop a true and genuine humility. So I say avoid arguments unless you really truly know what you are doing.

If someone asks you sincerely to speak with them about religion then tell them what you think in all sincerity, avoiding sensationalism and delusion as best you can. Realizing that you are probably making a moron out of yourself and using that as an opportunity to practice greater humility in the accepting of your own idiocy.

Since you say you have a strong urge to spread the Good News, this is a good sign, it is a nascent zeal for the salvation of souls. Please nurture it at least in private prayer for people. If you continue to feel this is not enough then my advice is to take up a private study of the more detailed beliefs of the various denominations, and especially the common atheistic and modernistic arguments against Christianity, as well as their correct refutations. But argument alone will never win a soul, so you must above all be filled with a burning love, and only a constant life of prayer, lived in the Church, can stoke this flame, That is the real reason why I say to avoid argument as a beginner. It is a super effective distraction for many people from the real job of a Christian which is love.

That has yet to happen.

My social circle treats me as the kind of walking encyclopedia / advice guy, who has an answer for everything. (I don't know why.)

I'm unsure how to carefully incorporate my new Christian views without giving the impression of having "gone nuts".

No worries, I'm currently far from being anywhere near of being an apologist. I've yet to finish my Bible studies and I still know so little. Yet in my heart I know it's the truth.

Just say what the truth is. Say you go to church if it comes up. Don't hide it, but say it in a natural way while leading a good life. When the time comes, gently hint at your Chrisitianity and say what you think about it. I was derided for it by everyone I know, as will you, but fuck their bs, and show them how good you end up by following Christ.

>>561115

>I'm unsure how to carefully incorporate my new Christian views without giving the impression of having "gone nuts".

If the conversation lulls, ask a philosophical question, then state your belief in the Christian answer, like if you believe in Idealism, you can give the question "If a tree falls in the woods and nobody is there to hear it, does it make a sound?" And then give your belief after a bit of discussion, and how the universe could be regulated by god to satisfy other minds, etc.

Hi, I would suggest finding a parish first and going to mass. When you're there, speak with a priest. Get involved in the parish itself. Having a church community is one of the most important things that can help you if you don't know any other Christians.

Most of my friends are atheists/secularists, before I became more religious, they would make jokes about Christianity. They know I am a practicing Christian now, so they respect it and have stopped. I'm always open to explaining the faith to them and I have noticed a couple of them starting to walk on the path towards Christ. I just have to help them down that path a little bit more.

You could do the same. Make sure you are ready to answer any questions, but first you have to nurture your own faith.

As I said, you should really get yourself to a church for mass. Being in the presence of our Lord is a wonderful experience.

May God bless you!

it's honestly worth a read for the sheer keke factor

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 229:

Narrated 'Aisha:

I used to wash the traces of Janaba (semen) from the clothes of the Prophet and he used to go for prayers while traces of water were still on it (water spots were still visible).

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 230:

Narrated 'Aisha:

as above (229).

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 231:

Narrated Sulaiman bin Yasar:

I asked 'Aisha about the clothes soiled with semen. She replied, "I used to wash it off the clothes of Allah's Apostle and he would go for the prayer while water spots were still visible. "

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 232:

Narrated 'Amr bin Maimun:

I heard Sulaiman bin Yasar talking about the clothes soiled with semen. He said that 'Aisha had said, "I used to wash it off the clothes of Allah's Apostle and he would go for the prayers while water spots were still visible on them.

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 233:

Narrated 'Aisha:

I used to wash the semen off the clothes of the Prophet and even then I used to notice one or more spots on them

>i used to be like you. then i stopped giving a fuck

I wasn't giving one at age 16, when I was secular, but at more than twice that age it's not that easy anymore.

Don't want to lose friends and family by going openly fundamentalist, I feel more like nudging people into the right direction and let do God His work on their faith.

>>572123

I can be open about it. Recently a friend asked in a chat what I'm reading currently and I honestly answered "the Bible", the reaction was confused/surprised, but not hostile. The topic changed quickly and no further questions were asked.

>Since then I can fully understand Christians when they talk about faith, while in the past I was cringing at religious testimonials. At the same time I have the feeling I have to hide my power level now despite having a strong urge to spread the Good News.

First of all, don't call it "power level". That implies some kind of retardo /pol/-meme. Are you Christian or are you not ? Because if you are, you spread the Gospel and be the living example of it.

Mt 5:16

1 Peter 2:21

Ephesians 5:1-2

Philippians 4:9

And so on and so forth. Don't be afraid and don't hesitate to do small things like crossing yourself in public and explain your faith profoundly. It is that, being the example of the Gospel, that will draw people in.

Christ said that we will be persecuted, crucified and tortured for following him and this is something we should embrace. For salvation does not lie in comfort, it lies in struggle for Christ.

God bless

You are retarded cowards who deserve to hang. Jesus and the apostles werent killed for being nice, living a healthy life or having a diet. They were killed for proclaiming the truth and the faith. You are the candle that is hidden, and you will be held accountable for it, traitorous snakes

be2322 No.572634

>>572618

Relax,

St. Clement teaches us to be careful to spread the Gospel in a house of heathens.

Rather lead by good example, make your ways higher than their ways.

Especially since OP isn't versed entirely in the wisdom of the faith to proclaim it.

< Therefore do we not sing psalms to the heathens, nor do we read to them the Scriptures, that we may not be like common singers, either those who play on the lyre, or those who sing with the voice, or like soothsayers, as many are, who follow these practices and do these things, that they may sate themselves with a paltry mouthful of bread, and who, for the sake of a sorry cup of wine, go about singing the songs of the Lord in the strange land of the heathen, and doing what is wrong

Tl;dr

<Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine

Matthew 7.6

396cd4 No.572636

>>572618

You’re absolutely right. I’m tired of these idiots here and even on /pol/ saying hide your power level. The degenerates will continue attacking us like Satan’s guarddogs and all these cucks want us to just shut up and take it. Change doesn’t happen without effort and as the enemy has shown, the only way to win is to double down.

0da7d2 No.572850

>>572613

>First of all, don't call it "power level". That implies some kind of retardo /pol/-meme.

The "meme" as you call it describes the situation perfectly:

You have views and answers which substantially differ from the consensus of your environment.

If you provide these views without caution, people are unable to cope with them and might retaliate for questioning their basic worldview.

You won't experience that if you luckily live in a 99 % Catholic country, but I live under a secular/atheist majority with a growing Muslim population and a shrinking Christian minority.

So I made this thread to look for guidance from people with similar experiences.
