Well it's not really just making fun of Christians. When the show starts, it's just a kinda Bush-era satire of religious fundamentalism. It's just a semi-parody of shows like Leave It To Beaver or Davey and Goliath and nothing more. But as the show goes on, it takes a more mature look at things and changes. It starts to depict the town as having problems more due to the fucked psyches of the people living there, instead of blaming Christianity. It shows Orel finally growing up and marrying his Christian waifu and continuing to both practice his faith and be reconciled with his father, despite his bad experiences growing up. The reverend goes from being just another authority figure to becoming one of the most moral and sympathetic characters, being one of the few people who really want to help Orel. All that being said, it is still an Adult Swim show and many episodes are clearly just taking the piss out of Christianity, and I'm not gonna pretend the show is perfect, but I do think it's really good and I don't view it as anti-Christian
