What is /christian/'s opinion on Jehovah's witness?

I like to read the bible and my faith in god waxes and wanes often. Jehovah's witness have helped me and taken the time to explain the bible to me. I admire how seriously they take the scripture, I admire temperate they are and I admire crisp and sharp their teachings are, cutting straight to the point.

But I read online about the failed prophecies, the men clearly turned atheists who lived lavishly on the church's dime and the publication and exclusive use of the New World Translation. I read these things and I get afraid, afraid of being subjected to false doctrines due to group peer pressure.

Generally, its considered to be a cult here. Apparently, they have some heretical beliefs. I wouldn't make it your church church, if you know what I mean.

Arians were more Orthodox, do not join the witness, join literally any Protestant church before that, but preferably join the Orthodox Church

The first thing to know is that JWs are not allowed, according to the rules of /christian/, to post here. They are non-nicene, meaning that they reject the clear Biblical teaching of the trinity. The trinity is one of the most important beliefs of Christianity. Do not ever compromise how important the trinity is. The way the JWs work is this: they created a new version of The Bible that completely removes the trinity, the deity of Christ, and other dogmas they don't believe in such as Hell. Then, they make all members struggle to memorize verses and places in order to get more members to join. Their Bible is so weird and different from the original that they had to translate it into Greek! They are nice people, like Mormons, but their beliefs are completely anti-Christian and they must be rescued out of Hell. Do not compromise on the trinity. The Jehovah's Witness, Mormonism, Judaism, and Islam are all nontrinitarian spinoffs of Christianity that can't be believed.

They've got some good ideas. It's a pity that they are a doomsday cult with no exit though.

My aunt is a JW. She's always arguing with my mom about theology. Saying how Jesus wasn't God's Son. And that Jesus wasn't crucified, that he was impaled.

Needless to say, JWs can't be considered Christians by any traditional standard.

Te be clear, they don't believe Jesus is the eternally begotten Son of God, they will still use the term Son of God, but with a different meaning

The Hospitality of Abraham was never meant to be actually depicting the trinity, it's just heavily implied that they represent the trinity

Of course, I know the history. I've also been around perishes enough to know there is widespread misunderstanding

love that autistic trinity triangle tho

Unsaved apostates who trust in their works above all else and deny Hell and the trinity and are on a one way trip to the former.

As a 20-year-JW I wrote a wall of text about them in the last week's JW-thread:

https://8ch.net/christian/res/551241.html#553527

You can join them if you want but don't expect to find fulfilment or salvation. It's a semi-christian cult and their leaders in Brooklyn are hypocrites.

Does this look like people who follow Jesus? → http://fourwinds10.com/siterun_data/health/abuse/news.php?q=1510592661

Ask questions if you want, I will answer when I have time.

jehovah's witlesses are

1) trinitarian heretics

2) edit their bible translation to support their theology rather than conveying the language correctly

3) are an abusive cult in terms of practices

do not join them. hell, I'd say begome gadolig before even considering them.
