Do you think he’ll eventually convert from Jungian LARPing to Christianity?

81a33a No.558793

Fuck no that guy's turned the heresy up to 11. He's just antichrist prepping gullible fedoras like a good goyim.

"I LIKE THIS ONE" - Jordan Peterson

81a33a No.558801

Jordan Peterson. Self help guru who yelled at some SJWs once so people think he's edgy right wing while he teaches them about Freud and chastises everyone for the holocaust. He's got a series of lectures up on how the Bible is about his own divinity. There's a cult forming around him. Gives me the creeps.

8fe287 No.558815

>>558798

Honestly I didn’t realise Jordan was this much of a pleb. Individualism is an utter meme, and eventually leads back to some form of collectivism, because humans are by nature social beings. Even autists who physically prefer to be alone find community online. Even edgy stirnerites and nihilists want to find other people who agree with them.

c37964 No.558824

Given his intimate knowledge of the bible, if he hasnt changed yet he probably wont.

9628e2 No.558837

>>558815

Individualism isn't that, however. Not properly understood. Most individualists acknowledge that people are, and should be, embedded in a community and their family.

Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn talked about personalism instead of individualism, but I don't know if he kept this distinction up or if he reverted back to calling it individualism. In any case, he substantially meant what I described above.

f6a8b6 No.558842

He's a good transition between militant atheism and reading the bible. His talks on general religion helped me return to church. But I don't take his Christianity series very seriously, nor do I listen to him now that I'm Christian.

48b46f No.558858

>>558842

This

He's a good stepping stone, especially for people who are returning to the church. But once you're actually interested in following Christ all his lectures start to seem too wishy-washy and treat the subject from such a removed, abstract lens its hard to enjoy them.

I hope so but the Gnostic koolaid is one hell of a drug as it makes you feel very significant.

390899 No.558883

>>558837

What IS individualism then, properly understood? It seems like an incredibly nebulous ideology to me.

a22e02 No.558887

>>558837

That picture puts individualism over and against collectivism itself, and its common manifestations.

as if "individualism = good" and "collectivism = bad"

31e594 No.558989

Could anyone summarise up his belief regarding the connection between Christianity and Jungian personality theory? Is he a proponent of the collective hero persona? I ask because recently I have been having ideas about MBTI and Jung's theories that I am suspicious of, like how each type is a worldly rationalisation of the purpose of each soul that God has given us. Please rebuke me harshly if need be.

I sure hope so, but as >>558793 >>558801 said its not looking to good.

I dunno a thing about Jungian philosophy but…

First he talked about Adam being a "hermaphrodidic" being then started showing slides of Hindu snake shemales or something. Fine the rib thing I get it, but Genesis clearly states Adam was a man. Then he said Adam and Eve weren't the first humans Cain and Able were. WTF? Then he said the sacrifice of the Israelites was for future gain, which it isn't. You give to God freely or you're not giving to God. At least that's the way I see it. Then claimed Biblical contradictions which aren't there. "This God walks in the Garden of Eden" which of course was Jesus Christ but he wants to say it was the Father. Classic fedora. Then something about Mesopotamian mythoogy and and Voltron or whatever chopping up the Kraken of Chaos or whatever. Then some weird new age shit about power pyramids and the eye of horus. The guy is obsessed with social standing and careers, God isn't. It's just one thing after another knocking holes in scripture for no reason, twisting meanings, and bringing in pantheism while he's at it. The straw was him reading a letter from some high south american bint doing some jungle drug ceremony who said the mushroom Goddess said he was divine and at that point I had enough. Why read that if you're not trying to sell the crowd you're a prophet? He's likeable and obviously intelligent, but the Bible warns us about false prophets. This is a false prophet.

629ffb No.559148

He treats Christianity as a "useful mythology" or something of a folklore narrative and mixes it in with personality archetypes, some hogwash about belief and a total lack of strong scholarship in any of the domains he tries to cover.

I think he tries to convey the image of being something of a knowledgeable hero or a sage. In a video about his beliefs he said he "acts as if God exists" not with knowledge and faith. It is a convenient position that doesn't really ostracise college kids on either end of the atheist-theist divide online and he fills it with some Forer-Effect style psychology terminology.

If you want to see level-headed responses to his work Maps and Meaning you should look at 3 star or lower reviews of it online. He has built a cult of personality and a following that seems to be purposed around the income he gets from it.

shared from his plebbit no less. what an idiot. how does anyone take him seriously.

From what I've heard he really likes eastern orthodoxy and has even met with Orthodox leaders before. If he does convert hell probs go eastern orthodox. That's more good than bad imo.

616981 No.559339
