Why are there negative aspects of existence? If God wants us to be happy and filled with joy, and when Jesus returns he's going to make earth a paradise for the resurrected righteous, why didn't he already do this? Why is there such cold in the winter that you can hardly stand outside without almost freezing to death? Did sin cause this? Why does the sun get so hot that it can literally blister the skin off of my body? Did sin cause this? Why can trees fall on me and kill me while I walk in the forest? Sin? Tsunamis, earthquakes, lightning, natural fires, old age, decay, disease, etc.

None of these can be explained by "Adam sinned / humans are fallen." Even if you don't sin and are completely righteous (I'm not claiming anyone doesn't sin), you would still suffer, get sick, age, and die. I don't get it.

Paul seemed to believe in the Adam and Eve story literally as he contrasted Adam's sin and death with Christ's giving of life. He seemed to literally believe that death and decay were brought about by Adam's sin, and that God originally made creation all good. "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now." Rom 8:18-22

Yes it is

if you would have an incorruptible body that wouldnt be affected by matter and laws of physics, you could just hang around with buddies on Venus or visit pulsars for shits and giggles.

Instead, due to degenerate nature of man, you have a corruptible and vulnerable body that needs sustaining.

So yes, sin causes this.

Not the cold, but the fact that our bodies suffer from cold.

Okay, but why are our bodies like this to begin with, if God has a plan for making them immortal and glorious like Christ's? Didn't we naturally come to be like this through evolution? Therefore didn't God create us like this? How can sin be the cause of mortality?

>Didn't we naturally come to be like this through evolution?

Its a meme. either if you believe that we were literally made of mud, or God took chimp and modified it, God made Humans directly, with his own "two hands" (A.K.A. The Word and Spirit).

>Therefore didn't God create us like this?

You're living in a meme, m8

>For God created man to be immortal (in this case should be "incorruptible"), and made him to be an image of his own eternity. t. Wisdom 2:23

>How can sin be the cause of mortality?

I prefer the word corruptibility. Because "Death" is quite Vague unlike modern understanding to "cease to exist" or perish, and I'll try to explain here.

God is life and source of life. Sin, despite many descriptions has one simple explanation: It is an act or state of rebellion against God. This is why "wage of sin is death". Its not because of abstract "need of Justice" or sorts, but its a logical end for those who deny life itself.

Now death is two or three kinds in general, depends on how you view it.

First is that of animals, that cease to exist once they die and merely devolve into matter

Second is bodily death of Humans. While some may consider it as that of animals, I would sort it differently, for our bodies shall rise yet again.

Third is spiritual death. This is the "second death" that will happen to Damned and Demons. It is not to cease to exist, but rather its an everlasting state of rebellion and hatred against God. While they wont cease to exist and will live for eternity, they shall strive to nothingness that they shall never achieve, for evil doesnt exist ontologically, but is merely deficiency of goodness.

For why didnt God granted incorruptibility to Adam and Eve in the new state, the most common and logical answer is sort of like this: Humans were created to be godlike. God says to Humans in psalm 82:6 "I have said ye are gods and all of you are children of the most high", or as St. Basil says "Humans are beings that have order from God to become gods". This is called Theosis and is achieved with Synergy of Gods grace and Humans. Now fallen man who refused to repent is implied to be unable to complete this, hence they became temporarily corruptible.

Why did He did this way and didnt in that. Well, this is when Faith steps in. We have minds that are temporarily tainted by sin and won be able to understand everything fully before we die and learn the unknown in heaven. We should just remember, that God is all-loving Father who considers us to be His children and at the same time, he is self-sustaining being that desires nothing for himself hence he desires only good and good for our sake. Hence we must trust in His decision. We shall have the answers on the otherside.
