Why does God allow children to be born with diseases and children to die in earthquakes and people to get cancer? Is there any good answer to the problem of pain?

so people have a reference point for understanding hell, and their potential fate if they don't repent.

and pain only affects your body so it's not the big of a deal, the bigger deal is sin, which can poison and kill your soul

God is perfect, that kid that gets raped and beaten daily by loved ones is suffering because Adam and Eve pushed the big red shiny button they were told not to.

Evil gets destroyed and cast into hell. The good persists into eternity.

Theodicy is only a problem in an atheistic worldview (paradoxically) where death is the end, things appear arbitrary yet sufferring seems to be objectively and existentially "wrong". In the christian worldview justice and mercy come and everything is put in its proper place and set in order in the final calculus.

Theodicy is a problem for atheists who unconsciously have residues of 'the good' and God still lingering in their pressuppositions
