3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

8 Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

Romans 1

26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Compare 2 Timothy 3 with Romans 1. It matches up almost perfectly on what the sodomites do. 2 Timothy 3 even uses the word "reprobate" which is almost never used

Marriage wasn't created by people. It was created by God. A popular vote can no more change the nature of marriage than the nature of the physical universe. Nothing good will ever come of ignoring and defying the laws of nature as God wrote then. All you'll end up doing is ruining many lives and destroying many souls. But I guess that's the point, isn't it?

It was an 80% turnout, man. You have to go back to the 19th century to see a US presidential election with a higher percentage. As awful as it is, in the eyes of the voting public it’s a completely legitimate result. I just take solace in the fact that we managed to stave off this bullshit longer than Ireland and the US.

How has the Church always dealt with them? Nothing to be done about them, they're here, they're queer … oh … right.

No, we were foretold there would always be weeds grow up amongst the wheat. The servants are not to deal with them but to leave them until the day of judgement. We just have to bear our outrageous (mis)fortune of slings and arrows.

So, you're from Sydney? Lucky you. I'm from the land of "Anglican inclusiveness". The last sermon I heard – and I mean it was THE last – at my Anglican church was "We all know better now" than to obey Leviticus.

It's weird because as far as I'm aware Anglicans outside of Sydney are much more High Church, and in my mind for some reason I've always linked high church with conservatism (probably because of the emphasis on tradition) but Sydney Anglicans are supposedly amongst the most conservative in the country.

idk I always thought that was weird

8d69bf No.557630

>>557505

You have to remember that Baptists are a fairly loose grouping of churches, and that Southern Baptists and smaller, more radical groups like the considerably overrepresented IFBs are predominantly (Southern) American and do not represent mainstream Baptism worldwide. There are plenty of liberal Baptist churches going around, and no Baptist I've talked to in real life was even close to an Andersonite. Frankly /r/Christianity is more representative of the broader Christian community than /christian/.

>It's weird because as far as I'm aware Anglicans outside of Sydney are much more High Church, and in my mind for some reason I've always linked high church with conservatism (probably because of the emphasis on tradition) but Sydney Anglicans are supposedly amongst the most conservative in the country.

Not amongst, I'd say ARE the most conservative, Biblically, at least. Sydney Anglicans have a worldwide reputation for being one of the last (large) vestiges of Biblical Christianity in the western half of the Anglican communion.

You're right about the rest of Oz, though. There's all colours nationally – refer my >>557476 pic related – but the rest of Oz like "playing church", love the smells and bells of it all, and, my experience, is that most of them are pretty liberal. Oh, sure, there's always some Christians amid all congregations who toe God's line – I know some – but liberalism and high church go hand-in-hand in my experience. And scattered around are Charo' and Evangelical congregations, and while most are not "hard" as the Calvinist Sydney dioceses is, they do love God more than their own popularity, but some can be pretty "soft" and "loving".

I attended St Matts when I lived up there, which is associated with the seminary there. Wasn't the most dynamic church, but at least I never had to worry about them slipping into some doctrinal fluffiness.
