>Watching porn
>people seem to be enjoying themselves
>if they could fornicate forever would they truly be happy and content?
>no, they would be constantly trying to satisfy an eternal thirst, a lust, which can't be satisfied. Their bodies burn the pleasure within moments and it leaves them craving for more, like heroine junkies, the respite only lasts a few hours or days. Their bodies are pleasure destroying machines. So how can pleasure, even eternal pleasure make them happy?
I began to think that hell might not be literal fire and pitchforks, instead God would just let people succumb to their sins/lusts forever, so a sexual deviant would be mired in thoughts of sex, constantly thirsty for more, he would even get it sometimes, but no matter how often he did it, the thirst would return, like a vampire, and he'd have to search for more and more…forever…never finding any peace or true stability.
So there would be no need to add extra punishment to sins because the sins themselves carry their own punishment. When you sin you already experience the punishment itself.
I could give more examples but fundamentally the all deal with some sort of unquenchable thirst, some form of ignorance, that leaves the subject dissatisfied and enslaved.
Maybe I'm just a brainlet, but this could be a nice way to get around atheists who think God is "mean" for punishing people eternally…it's not really God punishing you, he's just letting you succumb to your own ignorance.
