This is too long, how do you even read it?

4e9db3 No.555744

I read Matthew yesterday, and Mark today. This will be my third readthrough of The Bible. The first time I read it, I read it linearly Genesis-Revelation. The second time I read it, I followed the one month Bible reading plan. This time, I'm gonna read it New Testament up through Jude, then Old Testament, then Revelation. The first time I read it, it took a year. The second time, a month. This time will probably take a little over a month. It's not too long or too difficult a book to read, stop making excuses

TL:DR Mark 12:31 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

I know this is bait, but Jesus is God, and the Son died on the cross to save humanity, not the Father. Your concept of God is not only unbiblical but also incoherent.

95140c No.555885

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. There was also the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

In God alone made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships Him.

Then there was the earth in all of its creation from the waters we call the oceans to the beast that roams the earth. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creep upon the earth. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. But man was not to eat from the tree of good for in the day that he eats of it he shall surely die. Alas, man did not withhold his temptation and chose to rebel against God's commands, which is called sin. Upon eating the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law.

Generations passed then God who chose Abram and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldeans and gave him the name Abraham. He found Abraham heart faithful before Him, and made with Abraham the covenant to give to his offspring the holy land.

And God saw the affliction of the people of Israel in Egypt and heard their cry at the Red Sea, and performed signs and wonders against Pharaoh and all his servants and all the people of his land, for God knew that they acted arrogantly against the people of Israel. And He divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on dry land, and God cast their pursuers into the depths, as a stone into mighty waters. By a pillar of cloud God led them in the day, and by a pillar of fire in the night to light for them the way in which the people should go.

God came down on Mount Sinai and spoke with them from heaven and gave them right rules and true laws, good statutes and commandments, and He made known to them His holy Sabbath and commanded them commandments and statutes and a law by Moses his servant.

God gave the people of Israel bread from heaven for their hunger and brought water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and told them to go in to possess the land that He had sworn to give them through Abraham.

“But they and the people of Israel acted presumptuously and stiffened their neck and did not obey your commandments. They refused to obey and were not mindful of the wonders that you performed among them, but they stiffened their neck and appointed a leader to return to their slavery in Egypt. But He are a God ready to forgive, gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and did not forsake them. Even when they had made for themselves a golden calf and said, ‘This is your God who brought you up out of Egypt,’ and had committed great blasphemies, He in His great mercies did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of cloud to lead them in the way did not depart from them by day, nor the pillar of fire by night to light for them the way by which they should go. God gave your good Spirit to instruct them and did not withhold His manna from their mouth and gave them water for their thirst. Forty years He sustained them in the wilderness, and they lacked nothing. Their clothes did not wear out and their feet did not swell.

And you gave them kingdoms and peoples and allotted to them every corner. So they took possession of the land of the western, Arabian peninsula. God multiplied their children as the stars of heaven, and He brought them into the land that He had told Abraham and his descendants to enter and possess.So they ate and were filled and became fat and delighted themselves in His great goodness.

Nevertheless, they were disobedient and rebelled against God and cast His law behind their back and killed His prophets, who had warned them in order to turn them back to Him, and they committed great blasphemies. Therefore He gave them into the hand of their enemies, who made them suffer and according to His great mercies He gave them saviors who saved them from the hand of their enemies. But after they had rest they did evil again before Him, and God abandoned them to the hand of their enemies, so that they had dominion over them.

Yet when they turned and cried to God, He heard from heaven, and many times He delivered them according to His mercies. And He warned them in order to turn them back to His law. Yet they acted presumptuously and did not obey God's commandments, but sinned against His rules, which if a person does them, he shall live by them, and they turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck and would not obey. Now, therefore, God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps covenant and steadfast love. Let God has been righteous in all that has come upon the people of Israel, for He have dealt faithfully and them have acted wickedly. Their kings, their princes, their priests, and Abraham's descendents have not kept God law or paid attention to His commandments and His warnings that He gave them. Even in their own kingdom, and amid God's great goodness that He gave them, and in the large and rich land that He set before them, they did not serve Him or turn from their wicked works.

Behold, they are slaves in sin; in the land that God gave to the people of Israel to enjoy its fruit and its good gifts, behold, we are slaves. And its rich yield goes to the kings of first the Assyrians, then the Babylonians, and the Greeks and the Romans, whom God had set over them because of their sins. They rule over their bodies and over their livestock as they please, and were in great distress.

So God set up over them one shepherd, like a servant of king David, and He shall feed them: He shall feed them and be their shepherd. And He, the Lord, will be their God, and His servant David shall be prince among them. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. and the government shall be upon his shoulder, whom they have pierced, he allowed for the slaves of sin's transgressions; he was crushed for their iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought all sinner's peace, and with his wounds we are healed. And they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn. and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

There, OP, a summary.

ed2012 No.555893

<TL;DR on theology:

We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible;

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, Begotten of the Father before all ages, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, Begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by whom all things were made:

Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and was made man;

And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried;

And the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures;

And ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father;

And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, Whose kingdom shall have no end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, and Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke by the Prophets;

And we believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.

We acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins.

We look for the Resurrection of the dead,

And the Life of the age to come. Amen.

<TL;DR on its message:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

<now read your Bible boi

The best way is to open it at the beginning of Genesis and start from 1:1. Then it's just as simple as reading the words (you do know how to do that, don't you?) until you need to do something else, at which point you mark the page you're on with a book mark or whatever.

If you do that for a while then you'll end up getting to the end of the whole book.

I'm sure it felt good to write that snark, but that is a surefire for a first-time reader to get completely burnt out without reading a single word of the Gospel. I don't have a fancy reading list or anything, but IMO start with the Gospel and work through the epistles and then tackle the sometimes rather dry OT.

aahahahahaha orthodox "churches". Half of your "churches" don't recognize the other half - and not even there they are one in opinion. Sad sad sad. hahahahah

Not to mention that Easterners prayed the Filioque for over 600 years before they did what they always do and play a game of politics and worldly power instead of focusing of God and then made a ton of strawmen.

Your opinion is actually invalid on anything, because you willingly adhere to OG protestant memes. And that is worse than say Lutherans or Andersonites, because they do it in good faith. Your "church" knows all the writings of the Fathers, the councils, the Church history and yet you ignore it, make up "alternative facts" and lie.

Not to mention the amount of insulting that is coming from your "church" towards Rome - and sadly not only the stupid af internet orthodogs, but high level clergy as well.

It shows nothing but that you adhere to an idiology which is based on pride.

Have a nice day m8, lmao'd at "orthodoxy's" life
