00f16d No.553825

Hey. I’m a 15 year old and my dad is making me go on a youth advance trip for my church like I did last year. Last year I did end up liking it a little mainly because I recieved the Holy Spirit (I’m a Pentecostal Church and we speak in tongues) but the camp itself I did not like. Beds were uncomfortable, food wasn’t that good, no cell service etc.

I’m not that excited to go again and while I must say receiving the Holy Spirit was great I get nervous when everyone around me is speaking in tongues and I’m not. I almost feel pressured into it, which I know I shouldn’t say because it’s the Holy Spirit but still. And I know you’re probably going to say speaking in tongues is demonic or some shit like that but I can assure you it isn’t.

And how would you know that if you aren't even old enough to post on this website?

Maybe, but we still want you to have a good life apart from the chans. People don't like having underage around here for a reason.

Still, it's obvious that the camp experience itself was worth it last time, so it's something I think you can bear with again.

>And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

It's not the Holy Spirit. Do a little research on prelest and Montanism, as well the historical manifestations of tongues. You might also consider reading St. Seraphim's Acquisition of the Holy Spirit, a short book that's available completely online, to to really understand what a far cry the mad babbling of tongues is. Don't go to the camp, get out while you can.

Also, get off 8chan. You shouldn't be here.

>somehow Satan intercedes this communication between you and God and gives you hallucinations

It’s almost as if you think Satan is more powerful than God.

>Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Prayer to God does not immediately preclude you from demonic temptation or influence. Not even close. That's not to say Satan is stronger than God, of course, but to suggest that the devil wouldn't try to deceive a naive heart at prayer is foolish at best and downright dangerous at worst.

The Bible says that Satan appears as an angel of light. Don't be deceived by him.

I can't recall that black author who said the only reason why he joined in his Protestant fainting/tongue gibberish thing was because everyone else was doing it.

Anon, bring weed to your Christian Camp, here's why

I myself went to a Christian Camp and considered how boring it would be, and how much more exciting it would be with weed. Also I considered how I could potentially have a spiritual experience while smoking weed at Christian Camp.

I had the time of my life in fact and it was actually great playing a bunch of board games, having free food, and talking about Jesus stoned.

My personal experience or view perhaps, you see what tends to happen in Christian communities, people tend to get in this really weird preachy mode system of logical justification. One thing I dont like is how open it is to interpretation the nature of being saved by Christ or its often philosophical nature in justification that makes it a more arguable issue than what it really should be.

I was at this camp, observing people, and i still hang out w/Christian groups, and in most cases its like people will naturally reiterate their own interpretations of a section in the bible to their own lives pretty much, and nothing wrong with that, that can be good, because it is what it is.

Always fully understand how people are presenting the bible , or any holy text

Of course you'll have one. For the Bible does say, "Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

When the devil is there seeing you out of your balls, he will share with you his spiritual experience. And maybe you'll even share it with your church, and then they will share their exorcism with you.

This sort of reasoning and logic is why religion gets a bad reputation. With that sort of logic for example, once again some nutty Christian taking things out of context for YOUR selfish arbitrary desires, for example, coffee or anything I can spin as an intoxicant can be labelled evil.

Also youre gay that you associate the devil with testicles.
