Thanks for understanding. I didn't really think about Manichean influences in Augustine, i've never heard it mentioned before or noticed while reading any of his stuff.

So it shouldn't discourage you, but vice versa. This is what makes our lives interesting. Short advise would be to read Bible, read its commentaries
This is where i feel helpless. There's so much information to take in and to analyze in so many different ways. I come across one thing , which then leads into another thing, and so fourth until i have hundreds of questions without answers and I just feel like giving up.
