I think there's nothing wrong with extending your life on earth as much as possible. Growth of organs from stem cells is okay as long as they're not embryonic. As for the popular fantasies of people uploading their consciousness onto a computer and either living in a digital realm or putting their consciousness on a new clone body? I think that is impossible. Whatever the consciousness you uploaded is it's no longer you. I don't believe immortality through human technology is possible. If it was it would be an interesting question as it could be interpreted as an attempt to avoid God's judgement and give eternal life to yourself. But I really don't think it can be done.

There tends to be disruption in the transfer of power, such as another king handing down his power. This would allow the ruler to have more time to judge a good canidate as well as prevent unforeseen consequences of an unexpected death. The change in policy for any given nation can then very much alter its diplomacy. Such as if the prior ruler was working with a country for reselution, and another disbands that idea, you may then have a preventable war on your hands.

A lifespan of 200-300 years would be acceptable, we just have so little time to learn and make a life out of ourselves(even mastering a trade for some). Such as those who spend a great deal of time in education have little time to make use of it, due to the prospects of attaining a job and other lively fancies. It is an inefficient process now indeed - we will see greater stability with the extension of life, and included in this is greater wisdom.
