As much as we'd like to see Mormonism fully discredited in the eyes of the world and in the Mormon church, it's nigh impossible because Mormon apologetics are some of the toughest nuts to crack. See James White.

I read a book recently that was written by a man that traveled to the far ends of human civilization, the isolated islands in the South Pacific with small indigenous populations. He said that, on trips to places like these, if you happened to run into other foreigners that they more than likely belonged to one of two groups: Chinese businessmen, or Mormon missionaries.

That really horrified me. You have these insane polytheists running around and spreading their false doctrine among peoples that have never had the chance to receive witness from genuine Christians. God have mercy on them and on us.

Source on that book sounds comfy.

And yeah Mormons are incredible like that however a lot of groups simply just take advantage of them for free labor and english lessons

Excellent video. Thank you very much. I've recently been reading the book The Kingdom of the Cults by Walter Martin, and it provides some really good insight into a lot of these sorts of groups, including a chapter on Mormons. The whole thing is fascinating.

It was an aside in the beginning of the book Lost on Planet China. The Chinese businessmen part was used to explain how the author wound up traveling through China. He wrote several earlier books about his travels in the South Pacific, I believe.

Currently a man trying to join the faith and get on board but have too much doubts to swallow the bread pill whole. I ask this in the most respectful way possible: What separates the New Testament from the Book of Mormon?

I feel as if the only thing giving Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, etc respect over Scientology, Mormonism, and the Moonies is that the latter groups were founded in modern times where the beginning details aren't as ingrained in our culture and we can see them more clearly

Christ's death and resurrection was witnessed by hundreds of people, and the accounts of it are consistent in separate accounts by people that never came into contact with each other. We have hundreds if not thousands of relics from this time, from historical manuscripts to the burial cloth found in Christ's tomb. Smith's nonsense is something he saw while entirely alone, and he couldn't even keep his story straight during his own lifetime. He also was unable to produce any evidence, such as the supposed gold tablets.

>Consistent

Don't even the gospels have differently? Like the number of angels sitting in Jesus's tomb when the women went to visit?

There are no true contradictions in the Gospels.

Regarding the angels:

I can't tell if you're being snappy or not because you were too ambiguous. Regardless, I meant what I said and every Christian on this board would agree with me. There aren't any contradictions in the Gospels (or Scripture as a whole). Any seeming inconsistencies are the result of errors in perspective, personal assumptions, a lack of historical context, etc.

Pretty good documentary, tbh. Also, I finally know where that Mormon cartoon came from.
