I am a Christian and I have been on this board for about 30 minutes, I want to tell you my thoughts on it.
I believe Christians shouldn't keep company of those that actively oppose our principles and pervert the Scriptures.
"But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat." 1 Corinthians 5:11
What I have seen so far on this board was the creation of pretty much of an image that many are very connected to, just like they did with Mary, you call her "Christ-chan".
You also seem to keep company of people that are clearly idolaters, that accept idols made of stone.
"Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners." 1 Corinthians 15:33
I hope this post helps the real sheep to be set free from this place.

You are a misguided Christian.
Furthermore, if your church tells you not to even communicate with heretics, you're probably in a cult. I'm not saying that is the case, but that is the impression I'm getting from the first half of your post.

Its not like he is wrong, though. Ive spent much more than thirty minutes on this board, and it is ridiculous here. The swearing on this board, even the taking of the Lords name in vain is astounding. This board seems more concerned with petty squabbles and self righteous criticisms than that of talking about Christ, or learning about Him. You dont really see much about how to spread the gospel, just what flavor is right. Ive been blown away by the pride of the catholic whoremongers. I dont care how much you try shuffle around it, praying to Mary and having statues of her is clear cut idolatry. Peter was not the rock, the knowledge that Jesus is the Son of God is the rock the church is to be built on. Peter wasnt even the first bishop of Rome. This place is Ichabod, and the OP is right. Its too bad, this place couldve been utilized as a wonderful tool to reach the younger generations.

But he is wrong. Naturally the swearing and sinning is unhealthy but we're on an imageboard and there's only so much of that you can expect not to see. Many of us are in "rehab" from the culture of bitterness here. Despite you speaking of the board as if this behavior is endorsed, I think you'll find only a handful that would truly support it (if that).
And for the last time, just because you possess a personal interpretation of veneration as idolatry, it doesn't excuse you not reading the writings of the saints of the early church who spoke on the issue or attempting to familiarize yourself with the dogmas about iconography. If you have done both, and still feel the way you do, fine. You are free to express your opinion here.
But be aware that when the Cathodox have centuries upon centuries of holy, biblical tradition behind their stance that your opinion will be dismissed frequently – and I find the notion that you could find that insulting to be naïve, given the hostility with which this subject is usually handled in the public sphere.
Then again, why am I even bothering? I'm trying to stick to the principles of my faith and treat you with respect, but given that you're calling Catholics "whoremongers," you've already decided that your doctrinal interpretations trounce love for our enemies. May God have mercy on you.

Contrast the upper quotes with the lower quotes.

What I imagine the upper one means is "There is no reason to attack other denominations, only to follow the word of God"
What I imagine the lower ones mean, is "You are wrong for being Catholic, for the Catholic tradition is wrong".
And I will be rather surprised if the meaning of those is different.

I did not say attacking other denominations. I criticize different flavors of the Gospel, and not letting the Holy Spirit guide and teach. There is nothing wrong with attacking Catholicism, due to its flawed theology. There is no basis for exalting the opinions of some dead men long ago over the inspired WORD of God. Its simply preposterous. Logically, if you are catholic, and catholicism is wrong, it would only make sense that you would be wrong being a catholic and following a tradition that is anti biblical. Sorry that this is a hard point to understand.

Unlike you, apparently, since now you have the valid reading and they don't(Because you have the holy spirit and they don't, apparently)
I am now going to raise you my valid point.
Ever since the New Testament, Jesus Christ made alliance with the one Church.
Yes, the Church. Not any church, but the one his followers erected.
At least both the Orthodox and the Catholic church try to validate themselves as the original church. The protestants just agree with each other through ecumenism and pretending their wildly varied beliefs are the same church and there's nothing wrong with that, because reasons, and now the non-traditional parts of the Vatican are falling too.
If you do not follow the Apostolic tradition, you are not with the alliance of god, and that false doctrine can damn you to hell.

Good post OP.
Only true Christians are going to make it into heaven and a true Christian is identified by their following the word of god/Jesus Christ.
So people that play violent videogames, have sex outside of marriage, gays, trannies, people who eat shellfish, people who put up Christmas trees (as the pagans do), etc.
ALL are going to hell when they die.
And though your overall point was that Christians should not be hanging out with these types of people or behaving in such ways that does not at all mean that Christians shouldn't be trying to spread the word of god to these people from time to time as the Bible instructs Christians to prosyletize their message to the masses.
So going among sinnners occasionally to do that is perfectly ok from Jesus's perspective just as he himself visited sinners to do the same.

Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

The spirit teaches you all things. You CAN be led into the truth, if you dare. You need to stop putting words into my mouth. I dont believe im, "literally Jesus." Thats preposterous, and you know it. Let me make it simple. The word says do this, and dont do that. When I see people NOT listening to it, that makes me disappoint, son. Get it? Just because i recognize this doesnt mean I get all prideful. You need to check yourself. The bible means much more than nothing, what a joke. Those dead people? THEY ESPOUSED THINGS THAT ARE ANTIBIBLICAL. Its not that they are dead, its that they are WRONG. Let that sink into your skull before you post again

It doesn't matter that you didn't literally declare that, you speak as if you were 100% certain of things.
Sadly, you seem too dense to understand the concept of "Maybe I read this verse wrong" so if anything I think you should leave.

the whole thing looks like an subtly obvious dig at Rome of the kind I'm sure you've never heard before

This is bordering on silliness.
>It doeant matter if you didnt literally declare that
Yeah it actually matters alot, guy
>Im just gonna believe you think that way!
>You speak as if you were 100% certain of things
What a crime i have committed. Im sorry you lack conviction, buddy.
>You seem to dense to understand the concept of "maybe i read this verse wrong"
Im waiting. Its a very easy concept to understand, actually. Show me how I am wrong. Show me! Dont just tell me. Maybe you should leave.

Again, time and time it has been proved that you can't really read or write. You have trouble understanding, when someone writes something in a way that isn't literal, it passes through your head and you are unable to catch it.
You are dull, or at least you are at the moment. You must come to terms with this.
Also
>Breaks into this board as a outsider
>Requests people that were inside before to leave
Really.

Coming from the guy who thinks that being certain of a thing means that the person thinks that theyre "literally Jesus…" Your words mean nothing to me. Time and time again it has been PROVEN** that i cant read and write? I get it. Youre a troll. You cant be anything but. You almost had me, actually.

Also, I merely suggested that you might leave, I never told you to. If you arent a troll it is you that has the comprehension issue.

Funny because that's a example of something that I didn't write literally but you took literally.

This argument is getting a little ridiculous, so I'll jump in here and link a biblically-oriented Orthodox defense of iconography meant for Protestant considering switching denominations.

You did literally say that and you did literally mean to say it. Why even say that? You implyed that having the certainty I did in what I know is right is like being literally Jesus full of the Holy Spirit when its pretty common and youre the one all worked up about this because you cannot understand. Even then, what is so remarkable about being convicted, if you cannot tear down what I am claiming?

But I am debating you right now.
My current argument is that you're not very literate.
>You implyed that having the certainty I did in what I know is right is like being literally Jesus full of the Holy Spirit when its pretty common and youre the one all worked up about this because you cannot understand
You realize that you're not only the holy spirit? You also have your material flesh. And now we have a problem. The spirit can be resolute, but the flesh can be prideful, both lead you to believe you've got the correct understanding of the bible, but the truths you preach will be different.
