>No Orthodox church in my country

What is the proper way to deal with this, according to the Orthodox Church?

d684ba No.544788

>>544786

Get in touch with the closest church geographically and ask the priest or bishop in charge for the next steps to take.

Where are you from? Somewhere in the Arabian peninsula or South America?

53fc22 No.544790

>>544788

Indeed, South America.

d684ba No.544793

Ah, well. That's a raw deal, but thankfully we live in the era of internet communication. It won't be easy, but an internet savvy priest can probably walk you through catechism online.

It's very important to keep frequent contact with an Orthodox spiritual father to guide you. I would definitely run this by the church official you talk to first, but for your weekly church needs you could potentially be able to attend a (preferably Melkite) or Eastern Rite Catholic parish nearby. Just don't take any sacraments and don't go through their catechism.

63841f No.544803

Next the you go on holiday consider it a pilgrimage to an ortho church, get baptized and if u stay long enough u could take communion

96e89a No.544830

Orthodoxy is a Church for the Slavic man. It makes no attempt to be the Church for the whole world - one of the easy ways to know it's a false heretical Church.

They are racists (in the real sense of the word) and don't care one bit whether or not you get saved beyond lip service. If you're not a Slav those wicked apostates will never see you as one of them - take this as a sign and thank God for His making it so easy for you to see that Orthodoxy is heresy, those who are really Slavic don't have it nearly as easy.

>Orthodoxy is a Church for the Slavic man

oh please 90% of the orthodox here are not slavic, not to mention you display your own ignorance by thinking Orthodoxy is only "native" to Slavic countries.

>- take this as a sign and thank God for His making it so easy for you to see that Orthodoxy is heresy, those who are really Slavic don't have it nearly as easy.

>He thinks God makes things easy

>This is your brain on Protestantism one and done salvation

>Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Why the hell do we keep getting Baptists sinposting in Cathodox threads, and Catholics sinposting in Protestant threads?

I swear, at this rate, instabanning all those who use these two flags would fix the board.

You sound like you had a bad experience with a Russian or Eastern European parish. I feel for you. But since your personal experience does not and cannot apply to all, you should frankly not use it to instruct others. For example, I've had a 10/10 experience in every single Orthodox parish I've gone two, except one - and it was Greek.

Of course, I do not believe it is necessary to point out that calling all Orthodox racist is false witness and so on.

383652 No.544847

>>544786

Probably the best thing is to ask the nearest Eastern bishop, regarding your situation, if you can take the sacraments at a Roman Catholic parish. If you are confirmed in the eastern church then the roman catholic church allows you to take sacraments with them for we consider you part of the one holy catholic and apostolic church. I believe eastern bishops allow this if an eastern parish is not accessible.

96e89a No.544849

>>544839

God is making it easier for OP to reject Orthodoxy, but by merit of his location, God is (probably) making it harder for OP to reject Catholicism. God gives and God takes away.

>>544838

It's the power of the education of the Word, friend.

>>544846

>Of course, I do not believe it is necessary to point out that calling all Orthodox racist is false witness and so on.

Obviously not all of the members are consciously racist, but the Church Fathers most assuredly are. An Orthodox mission to a foreign land is an oxymoron: doesn't happen. This implicitly declares that all those worthy of salvation are Slavs and Greeks. So, yes, if you believe in the goals of the Church and that it's a good thing that OP has this problem because of the race-based elements of Orthodoxy, you are subconsciously racist.

This tbh

Ortho is for eastern Slavs, Greeks and rare middle eastern nationalities.

You sound like an SJW just because it is harder to convert to Orthodoxy than just having pastor jim ask you if you believe Jesus does real doesn't mean we aren't trying even with limited resources and historical circumstances. Also St Nicolas of Japan would like to have a word with you.

You just want to ban your biggest rivals

d328a8 No.544911

Nah, Lutherans, Reformed, Eastern Catholics, Anglicans, and the occasional Copts are bros.

Baptists and Catholics are constantly aggressive and trying to cause trouble in threads that don't concern them.

5c46d4 No.544913

Why do orthodox always have this huge superiority complex? Do you understand that you only come accross as a smug retard?

27fc27 No.544915

All threads concern Catholics because we care about everyones soul.

d328a8 No.544919

>>544915

So you can't tolerate the existence of Protestants and butt in their own discussions?

You do know that doesn't fix anything, right? It just makes them hate us more than they already do.

Kind of like how Baptists butting into purely Catholic threads doesn't rally anyone to their cause, really.

>>544913

I am deeply sorry I came off that way.

Please pray for the sinner that I am so that I may attain to humility.

27fc27 No.544929

?

I haven't even clicked on the Baptist general tbh but I will always promote the Catholic church's teachings over other teachings.

Everytime I check out a thread by Protestants for Protestants, there are Catholics sinposting about Protestantism in it.

I prefer the spear-throwing over redditors, which can't be fixed.

We had a Catholic vol go nuts back in time and he ended up killing the board.

b14428 No.544933

I have a friend who is serbian and there is no orthodox church in this country either.

An orthodox priest rents out the catholic church in town and then they have a mass there. This priest is apparently a travelling priest that does this all over the place. Track down some serbian/russian/armenian/greek immigrants and ask them, they probably have this kind of thing going too. You won't have an orthodox mass every sunday though, but it's better than nothing.

We share a board with the Young Pope Matthew 16:18 spammer, and this post is serious?

Yes, and I'm sure you'd be very much on board with me saying that all threads concern the Eastern Orthodox posters here for the same reason. Specifically Catholic fellowship threads, which strongly need our input.

God help us!

That's not true, though.

There isn't a single thread here about converts to Catholicism that isn't spammed by Orthodox and Protestants.

Also, the IRL situation in Latin America is even worse. Orthodox missionaries cooperate with Protestant missionaries to undermine the Church there.

No as much anymore

In big part its due to protestant missionaries

For some reason a lot of them they go to christian countries to convert people instead of more irreligious or muslim ones

However, The Catholic Church does really need to step up their game with missions and maintaining what we still have

How do you attain APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION if you started the church yourself?
