Ask yourself, would Jesus make anyone sin? Of course not.

Drinking alcohol is not a sin if you are doing it to commemorate something or simply to have fun with people you like.

What is a sin however is excessive drinking (to the point of losing reason), being an alcoholic (as all vice is sin), or drinking because you want to forget something bad (because you should turn to God in prayer in such cases).

It's not a sin unless you lose control of yourself to it (namely, drinking until you lose reason, or becoming an alcoholic).

Jesus turned water into wine at a wedding, after everyone had a few rounds already. Getting "buzzed" is fine every now and then. Getting piss-drunk or drinking constantly is not.

The word in John 2 is oinos. Same word is used in Ephesians 5:18 where word methuskó, being drunk, is used. You cannot be drunk with grape juice anon.

Well, let's look at the context of John 2:1-11. It was at a wedding, and they had completely run out of wine. Tradition at the time was that the first round or two were top shelf, and the wine got progressively cheaper as people got tipsier. People were actually surprised that the wine Jesus made was high quality, so most likely, people there were already somewhat buzzed by that point, at least. If they were guilty of sin already by that point, then would Jesus have given them more?
