You are completely wrong. The Eastern Roman Empire was not only much better than the West, it kept the true religion while the West fell into ultramontanist, papist heresy. All I know is that the "merchants" of revelation 18:23 were the "great men of the earth". While babylonians inherited the kingdoms of the world in 2 kings 24 and Satan being their ruler/owner because of matthew 4:8-10.

So I look for history supporting what God has already said is true. That babylonians and Satan have authority over the world. It's a bit illogical in a way because I am starting with indirect evidence and working backwards since God states the truth.
