Another Movie About the Apostle Paul Is in the Works

The film will be released in 2018

http://www.christianheadlines.com/blog/new-film-about-the-apostle-paul-will-star-james-faulkner-and-jim-caviezel.html

A film about the Apostle Paul is currently in production. It will feature actor James Faulkner (known for roles in Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey) as Paul and Jim Caviezel (who played Jesus in The Passion) as Luke. There had previously been several films on the life of Paul and the Apostles, but this one looks to be an especially exceptional big screen experience. RelevantMagazine.com reports that the film will be titled Paul, Apostle of Christ. It is being produced by Affirm Films. According to a studio executive, the film will focus on the months leading up to Paul’s execution:

“This gripping film dives deep into the final months before Paul’s execution under Nero as he reconciles his faith with his past persecution of the church.” “Next to Jesus, no one played a more central role in the growth of the early church than the Apostle Paul,” added Affirm Films Executive Vice President Rich Peluso. “He wrote a vast swath of the New Testament and traveled more than 10,000 miles by foot to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This gripping film dives deep into the final months before Paul’s execution under Nero as he reconciles his faith with his past persecution of the church.”

Does anyone thinks the movie might show Paul in Spain. Some literature supports that may have happened.

I actually work for Hollywood. I have an advance copy of the script, I'll post a little bit now

SCENE ONE: STEPHEN GETS STONED

The setting is a synagogue, which will look identical to a Roman Catholic church minus statues of Mary and Jesus. A pharisee with blond hair is leading a group of Jews wearing red caps in a confrontation against Stephen the Protomartyr.

Chief Priest: Stephen, you have been accused of teaching beliefs that go against ours! We have no tolerance for such actions. If this is true, you will be stoned to death. What do you have to say for yourself?

Stephen: All I teach is this: Jesus was like a really nice person who taught people to be good. God is love! We should all just love one another! You need to open the borders of your heart to Jesus! Don't build a wall around your soul and deport the Holy Spirit!

Chief Priest: Blasphemy! We do not love here, this is a place of hate

Stephen gets stoned to death by the red hat wearing brigade. Saul watches, but doesn't participate. The Chief Priest approaches Saul later

Chief Priest: Saul, I noticed you didn't participate in the stoning. Why?

Saul doesn't answer at first

Chief Priest: I hope you haven't grown a soft spot for this Judeo-Chrislamic sect, have you?

Saul: Of course not, I approve one hundred percent of persecuting them.

Chief Priest: That's good to hear. So what do you plan on doing now

Saul: I'm going to make Damascus great again

He cackles.

END SCENE

Much coolness. Hope they do it right.

Affirm, incidentally, are a sub-division of Sony, and have made pretty much every American Christian film of note since 2008, including what many at the time were parading as "The Passion"'s sequel, "Risen".

They deserve props for giving Caviezel decent work, tho', frankly, since the guy's career basically ended in 2004. (Seriously. Have a look at his imdb. It's truly sad.)

>>523248

Why do ppl get excited by this meme?!

>>523269

>God is love! We should all just love one another!

Are you mocking Stephan with this faux-liberal bile?

>I'm going to make Damascus great again

Or Paul with…

Not sure who you're mocking here … Or perhaps I place too much stock in your flag…

Nice.

This is being made by Mel Gibson though so its going to be (((anti semitic))) and truthful.oy very I can't wait.

Imagine how much kvetching the Jews did when in the last scene of the passion we see Jesus resurrected. Glorious.

I watched the interview with Jim Caviezel and I am certain he would never be on any cuck movie slandering Christianity. He seemed very genuine.

838da5 No.523339

Jim Caviezel is one of the few examples of true Christians in Hollywood.

This is written about the guy:

Showing respect to his wife and his faith, Caviezel refused to do a love scene with Jennifer Lopez in Angel Eyes since she was naked, and he refused to strip off in a love scene with Ashley Judd in High Crimes. He said, "I do love scenes – but not ones with gratuitous sex. … And it’s not just about my wife, although that’s important. It’s sin, pure and simple.

Some reporter on The Young Turks also tried to convince him about abortion, so Caviezel took him apart and gave him a half hour lecture about why it's wrong. There's an entire video of the reporter complaining about it on YT.

>>523275

He was great in Human Target. As soon as they included lesbians as main characters in season 4, his character was shot and the series died

>god's not dead (to be fair I haven't seen it)

I would say this might need revising, but I'm worried the newfags here might make it worse somehow. Wasn't this also made by some…?

Anyone seen Arn: The Last Templar? That might be able to replace Kingdom of Fedoras. Lawrence of Arabia might be good, and definitely Metropolis 1927. Narnia is fine but it's probably better to read the book. Same goes for LotR but at least those movies were alright (save for the recent ones). Artsy, existentialist-tier films shouldn't be there honestly, as they're a product of modern, materialistic life and Jews.

868e91 No.538770

>>538742

>and don't just give me your theory alone please

What the heck is this supposed to mean?

>What's good about it?

Good production values, decent acting, off-kilter story, told from point of view of a stranger. It got decent reviews, secularists cocked their heads and collectively seem to have said, "Yeah… o-o-okay." rather than rage spergingly. I'm not gonna say it's a five-star God-send, but it's good. And since OP's bar was "decent", I felt it satisfied it.

I notice nothing else in my list attracted this much disdain.

>To be fair there are some Christian/Christian-themed films here

In the meme?

Yeah, I think the memer who wrote it was trying to say something memey. What annoys me about it is that few of the european films were made by Christians, only TWO were made this century, and they're typically European ''vague Christianity", which is basically just a Christian spirituality philosophical theme surrounded by nothing particularly Christian. Not all of them, of course. Of Gods and Men and Calvary were actually good films, even if with non-Christian makers.
