The situation is this: I'm employed at a middle-sized company that distributes photocopiers, scanners and the like. For some reason I can't adequately understand my boss has tasked me with adding a sales module similar to online stores and sites like eBay and Amazon. Problem is, I haven't the slightest idea of web design, and I can't delegate this task to anyone because they're not interested and the boss wouldn't want to hear it anyway. How can I fulfill the task I've been assigned?

Elaborate

Also, what framework is your website running on?

Well, this is a "good news, bad news" situation. I've managed to more or less bullshit my way through the problem and used a bunch of premade tools to build the site up to specifications. A few kinks remain but I'm sure I can take care of them. That's the god news. The bad news is that my boss was so happy with the hackjob I did that now he's given me a new task. Namely, I'm now supposed to add some script or other for the purpose of adapting the products' listed prices to the fluctuation of the dollar. How the hell do I even get that done?

Did you apply for some job that you didn't actually have the skills for?

you need to create database job which will multiply prices of products based on some API data. Last time I searched for something like that I couldn't find any free API, so try to find some you can work with and tell boss that he needs to pay for this service.

What are your skills and your job responsibilities?

just use shopify/3dcart lmao

making a store is like a kid putting together a puzzle, your own domain, no coding and you can accept any currency which are all already on par with the dollar
