I always wondered by Nolan called this character the "Mosquito" man and now I've finally figured it out. I'm going to point out some key moments of the plane scene, then explain how they're symbolic of mosquitoes. These are the important events we must consider for this thesis:
>Mosquito Man flies toward CIA at high speeds (using the Masketta Van)
The mosquito locates its human target and chases them down relentlessly.
>Mosquito Man makes contact with CIA and takes the briefcase away from him
The mosquito lands on its victim and begins sucking their blood.
>CIA receives Bane (the big guy)
The human receives a mosquito bite. The bite turns into a BIG bump on their skin.
>CIA interrogates the hooded men he was given
The bite starts to itch and the human begins to scratch it.
>Bane causes the fire to rise by crashing the plane with no survivors
The bite becomes irritated and inflamed from too much scratching
All this because CIA was bitten by a pesky mosquito.
