So I was looking through my library and saw that I hadn't read The Kite Runner in a while. I reread it to see if it held up compared to when I first read it back in '05. While it definitely shows less of a mean streak than a Thousand Splendid Suns, one passage did pop out to me.
In chapter 7, page 52, Hassan says 'For you, a thousand times over' in response to Amir telling him to fetch his kite.
What did Khaled Hosseini mean by this? Meme magic has already shown us that memes can reverberate through time and space in both the future and the past. That latter point is important, considering that the book came out in 2003, a full 8 years (or 2 bane years) prior to the release of TDKR.
So brothers, what other pre-Nolan works have you seen that include Baneposting?
