Had an interesting train trip home.

Train was late and the platform and eventual train ended up packed.

Anyway, ended up standing next to the daughter of an ex-boss and so-called friend of ~19 years.

Spent practically every Christmas night and one of the Easter days at their place for most of that time, as well as other random dinners and things.

They were both teachers (and he was also deputy head) at my old school.

That school is where I got my first job doing IT support.

They were both married to other people and had an affair.

I was one of the 'loyal' people who stuck by them after all of that blew up.

Immediately their contact with me reduces to Xmas/Easter/occasional random thing OR when they needed help with something IT or electricity related (he was into collecting stereos and shit and I'm somewhat adept at Australian-izing power supplies and cords etc).

Then about two and a half years ago, the wife becomes an Anglican deacon followed by priest. The contact reduces even further to just Xmas/Easter and the two ordination services.

I put the first reduction down to people shunning the unemployed.

The second further reduction, I think, is because they're pretty busy and also because they've always known my thoughts on race and the Anglican church in SA are a bunch of nigger lovers.

The third reason is they've probably financially recovered from their respective divorces, the kids from the respective marriages are more or less grown up, and they don't need the autistic racist fuck cramping their style anymore.

I don't have to pay for parking. The work site is in a rail yard outside of the city. Unfortunately this rail yard doesn't service the metro lines, hence the bus and walk involved.

The morning trip on the train and bus is nice and quiet. Most of the people on board are workers of some sort. The train trip home in the afternoon is standing room only if you're not by the door when it pulls in.

It's the best mushroom soup i've eaten. The first time I tasted it was in some secluded restaurant right below the alps pass a few kilometers before the Austrian border when I was still a child. My mom tried to make it several times but never managed to get it right. Around two years ago I finally found the recipe and it was among the first results in google. Now I can't find it anymore. I think this is a two or four portion recipe. I never make this little but I don't know the amounts for bigger portions since I just wing it. If you add the ingredients little by little and taste often, you probably won't get it wrong. oh and as with most soups, you don't want it to boil too hard or it can start to lose flavor so keep it light.

U can add to both these with like a lunchbox. Get a pre mix salad leaves and add eggs or tuna and take it in the lunch box. Brocolli is real easy to stem in micro thats something you can add too. I usually have broccoli, a can of those kidney beans and a can of tuna mixed together.

I went out to do my power rack and found that I didn't have the right sized tools to tighten my lock nuts. So I returned inside depressed thinking I would have to buy some new tools.

Internet research revealed that the 17mm ratchet piece and the 17mm wrench should have been able to do the job so I went back out and found that they did fit and I had fucked up when I tried them earlier.

Unfortunately I had already had my shower by that stage so I only did a couple of nuts and will do the rest tomorrow. But I am feeling good now because I know what to do, how to do it, and it will be pretty easy I think. Tomorrow it will all get done.
