it depends on your lens. you can make decent portraits with stock 55mm lenses but yeah, around 70-100mm seems to be the standard. it's just important to shoot at open (wide) aperture in order to blur the background. you have to focus on the eyes though, it can fuck you big time if you forget that. or if you'll be taking several pictures quickly just close up the aperture a bit to get some wiggle room.

I wouldn't rely too much on the second pic because either the angle of the girl's head or the angle at which the photos were taken changed quite a bit during the tests so it's not a very reliable comparison.

Rarely I go too fast by miscalculating a corner or weather conditions that make the road a bit too slippery that could have turned out worse without the good control all under the legal speed limit. Beyond city driving, the symmetrical all wheel drive on the Forester has stopped the car from spinning out on sharp corners and when going too fast on gravel. It also helped me avoid a head on collision when I tried to go on the other side of the road, but cars were there and the car adjusted perfectly without any hard adjustments required. Even while I was rapidly decelerating before I thought I was going to have an impact on a 80km/h road, the car almost stalled in gear and it seemed to perform quite well. I care about safety because a life long injury sucks, while paying a premium and losing some speed performance is a cost I am willing to pay.

I have looked at Suziki to get the Swift model with the safety pack but it doesn't feel like it compares well on features to the Impreza or Forester (if I need a bigger car)

I probably do, but when the wheels start stretching on a bend at 40-45km with the 35km/h recommended speed turn to adjust the car, I would rather have control then needing to adjust the car manually. I wasn't expecting it and when I fucked up the car took over to adjust. It could have ended with smashing the car when it's a narrow road with barriers on either side.

I would also like an older Subaru to be able to perform this well in this older video imagine each cone is an idiot on the phone stepping on the road. Hazards are unexpected and your driving experience is not the only impact on the cars drive ability.

You do know that Subaru has been providing symmetrical all-wheel drive for more than 20 years, not shitty the car will self-correct it's self with AWD that was introduced since the last two generations of cars. It has saved my ass in two minor situations and a major situation. The car can work much, much faster than me especially in an unexpected situation. Here is my major incident:

I have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra and mechanically it's been fine but I've taken it in a few times, one time the screen was being glitchy when I had my phone plugged into it and was using Google maps with Android Auto, another time I had noticed a tear in the lid of the bottom side of the center console, I paid for a premium service when I bought it that anything I find wrong internally in the car will get replaced.
