Yeah try MSY or PCCaseGear.com.au.

An american cunt of mine was building up a system last year and he didn't seem to be getting stuff all that much cheaper.

If you're buying a whole system from Dell or Harvey Norman or some other mum and dad store, there's your problem.

Or if you want to be a complete cunt, go here:

http://www.reboot-it.com.au/refurbished-computers-c-1/

Ex-govt machines that have been cleaned up and reformatted. I upgraded the wife's desktop (a whole new case with SSD) for $250. You won't get the latest gear because these computers are a result of a departmental upgrade, but it's fukn cheap!

I use MSY and pccasegear. My local MSY is actually staffed by whites which was a pleasant surprise. Also because I'm fucking tech illiterate they only charge $50 to build a new rig.

Didn't know that. Do they also give advice on what goes with what, then build and test it for you?

PCcasegear stopped doing custom builds years ago. It was great because you could take one of their off-the-shelf rigs and tweak it how you like, then ask them to build and test that. That way you didn't necessarily need to know all 58 types of RAM and which 198 motherboards they can and can't go with, how powerful your power supply will need to be etc etc etc.

Use newegg. Most stuff is cheaper than Australian distributors. 1080ti is about $200 cheaper than here

Its fairly easy if you watch a few yt vids. Also pcpartpicker has a compatibility function, it tells you what isn't compatible, how much PSU you need, what mobo goes with what RAM, its pretty neat.

Pretty much. I just asked for a rig that wasn't more than certain dollars, told them how much space I wanted and what type of cooling and they came back with options. From initial email to pickup was about 2 weeks including all the back and forth getting in just right (they were restocking with new shit), was tested and re-tested when I got there to prove it was all ok and then they deleted the OS as I wanted it blank. I got my previous rig from pccasegear and that was pretty good, I use them for all peripherals now.

I've head good things about MSY but I have such a big problem dealing with chinks

Same reason I can't bring myself to go to Umart

It's so fucking hard to deal with them and if anything goes wrong I don't want to deal with that

Shit that is good. Especially for only $50. I think PCCG used to charge $100 for a build.

Buy from Newegg, everything is so much cheaper, plus you can get some components that are not sold in local distributors.

Shipping on Newegg is about $30-60, but still makes it on most items much cheaper. Pic related. The price gouging on with 1080ti's is just beyond retarded.

You people should really just build your own pc. It's not that hard, use sites like pcpartpicker or something, gpucompare cpucompare etc, then put it all together. It's a valuable skill and experience. When something goes wrong (it will, eventually) you will be better equipped to figure out what it is and fix it. And keep a notepad file of the quickest way to format and install your OS and hardware, the little bug fixes and addons etc etc.

Yeah a mate of mine just did that. Bought a second-hand PC and put a lower end graphics card in and says it runs almost everything in 1080p on ultra settings, better than what he got on the PS4. People get caught up in benchmarking and all that but you don't even need to spend more than $600 or so.
