Maccas has a lot more bland food in general. The chips are the worst out of the major fast food chains, and most of the burgers taste stale and extremely artificial, with few exceptions. They have gutted most of the good items out of the loose change menu (the Double Beef and Bacon for $3 was a favorite, the bacon was always done perfect, removed and now it is $5 or something stupid) and some of the food there just tastes plain shit. I brought the fan feed box recently and the Big Mac was even smaller than before, and none of it even tasted half-fresh. The apple pie was spicy (wtf?) and the chips were warm and devoid of any flavor or texture, and seasoning. The McBites were alright though, one thing they got right.
Hungry Jack's are the fast food chain that have really improved their game lately, with many improvements and new, cheap decent quality menu items. Their re-invigorated chips are right up their with Red Rooster and KFC in terms of taste. I had the Angry Whopper from there and some chips, everything tasted fresh and the burger was one of the best I have had in ages, decent size too. I got one of those Oreo Shakes for $2.50 something as well.
KFC is good but the most expensive, the Zinger stacker burger, chips and Go Bucket are the only real items of worth on the menu. I wish the Boneless fillets were less expensive. The Nuggets are alright but sometimes not as hot as they should be. The chips a while ago were very nice, with a nice seasoning to them. Recently however the quality has been in a decline with less and less seasoning on them.
Dominos, is good quality ( varies depending on the store, my local one is great), cheap (only with vouchers, which are always available) and tastes fresh most of the time. I always spec a custom mogul pizza from there. With the ever persistent vouchers it comes to about $7.95 for a pizza and offers one of the best cal/$ in the market.
