Digital Media at RMIT or Computing studies at RMIT?

>RMIT

>pic related

Putting that aside: what's the difference between the two? Is digital media web design or is it similar to media studies? Is computing studies like computer science?

I'd say picking science is always a solid choice, particularly if it is related to computers. I'd definitely recommend doing it somewhere else though; studying is a great opportunity and excuse to see more of Australia. I'd also say to pick a uni that has strong international connections, so that you can study overseas for a semester or two if you like. Studying overseas is fucking boss and it looks great on your resume, I wish I did more of it while I was in uni.

Make sure you pick something you genuinely will enjoy and that you can see a demand for in the real world; you don't want to be paying off a useless degree in this economy.

Serious employable Computer Scientists are Mathematicians. Do a B.Math with CS minor.

1st year: Math, Math, Science, CS

2nd year: Math, Math, CS, CS

3td Year: Math, Math, Math, CS or Math, CS, CS, CS

I'm doing a 1 year Sound Production course in my gap year. The thing is the Digital Media (bachelor of design) course that I got into requires an ATAR of 80 but the Computing Studies course only needs 60. Should I do the course that's higher up (and compliments my TAFE course) or the one that's more practical?

What do you think of doing a degree entirely overseas? It seems that unis in Europe are cheaper even when paying as an international student. It would be call to backpack through europe on your holidays too. What about studying overseas online from the comfort of Australia? I was thinking of joining the navy and studying online through a European university. Not sure how much time you would get to study, but all the soldiers I know have shitloads of free time to Chad it up so I figure the same would apply for the navy right? I could always join the army instead.

Just a heads up, you need to jump through a lot of hoops to get approval to study while full time ADF. Plus, if you're thinking of going navy don't do it faggot internet connection is sporadic at best.

Ahh okay m8, thanks. I was thinking of studying part time online though. You wouldn't need permission for that considering they wouldn't know, right?

Would a degree earned overseas be valid for entry into the RMC for officership? To clarify, could an Australian with a degree in mechanical engineering from Germany, still become an army mechanical engineer as a grad from an Australian uni could? Does it matter where you study provided your degree is accredited? I know I should give DFR a call and I will.

What IT course should I do at TAFE? I didn't do ATAR so Uni is not an option.

 No.115231

>>114650

dude you should have made the submission between october and september, and you don't need an ATAR to get into uni, read up on the VTAC website.

ex rmit fag here

this is the only advice you'll ever need.

Don't go to RMIT. It's a waste of time, money and effort. you'll learn more watching OCW vids on youtube than you ever will studying at RMIT. Also never, ever go to uni to "learn" It or programming. with the wealth of open source software and information on any programming language on the net, all you need to do is pick a language, pick a project and get to it.

 No.115361

>>115360

further to this, i would say having "studied at rmit" would be a net negative on any job application, it's that bad.

 No.115362

>>114014

this. the only degrees worth doing at uni are maths intensive, physics, engineering any maths bachelor etc. thing is with maths you actually need someone to learn you on how to do proofs etc as it's not something you can learn from a book.
