Back from DnD, today was a doozy.
In this dungeon there was a swamp, and sitting in this swamp was a house.
We went in, and there was the usual trappings, 2 chairs, a table a chest and drawers. Stairs leading up and stairs leading down.
One of our party was like 'Nah, the chest is a mimic' and went to root through the drawers, which was a fucking mimic.
Wanted to pick up a chair and that fucking chair was a mimic too. In fact everything was a mimic.
Then somehow someone struck the ground and some magic shit happened, and so the bird druid in our team shouts 'Get the fuck out, the house is a mimic.' It fucking was, and as I ran out of the house, the house eats me through it's roof mouth and I end up past it's gullet and into the master bedroom. I already was in low health and that shit put me into death saving throws.
Want me to continue onward? I want a sip of alcohol first.

Here's wise words from another place: You know what sucks? When we die, there will be no evidence that we ever existed. We'll just be GONE. There will be no more Nezi, Darwin, Freklz, or anybody else. That's it, we're gone.
We'll just be dust in the wind, easily replaced by a new, autistically inferior generation.
Life is both a blessing and a curse, with Death forever holding his scythe poised over our necks.
Yet every day is a gift, that's why they call it the present. So cherish every moment you have and don't let fears or insecurities hold you back from accomplishing everything that your soul desires. Be all that you can be, love thyself, and love thy neighbor.

maybe I just like the stories. I'm pretty sure it might be that. If there are any stories worth pondering about, I imagine, it's those of real world things going on at this very moment that were unknowable yesterday and only knowable today.

The enemy of the people might be a tad too far, but it is also clearly hyperbole to draw attention to the issue. You'd have to be blind to not see how the media twists the news to form whatever narrative they want. There have been so many times where they have been caught outright lying to try to push an agenda. It needs to stop. On both sides.

>You'd have to be blind to not see how the media twists the news to form whatever narrative they want
> It needs to stop. On both sides.
oh well of course. He certainly drew attention to the issue, but let's think about that for a second. Let's say you or I were in a position where our voices would be heard, and we wanted to draw attention to some issue. In this case, some hard truths about the role of the media, the role of bias, the role of money, the role of political correctness, the role of narratives etc.
You or I could probably come up with a dozen, eloquent, meaningful ways to talk about this. We could probably use examples, the massive laundry list of examples across various news sources. Perhaps we had an entire research team at our disposal to actually look into these things.
We could compare and contrast the various sorts of stories we consider insightful, free from bias and towards the truth. Because that's what the media is supposed to do; inform the people about the truth.
Would either of us think the way to increase accountability and integrity and skepticism and intelligence towards the media, would be by attacking them in the ways Trump has?
Would either of us overexaggerate our favouritism towards a news source like Fox News that is guilty of all these failings on behalf of the media?
Would we be vague and avoid making specific distinctions towards the things we consider problems?
No, Trump's approach to the media doesn't align with someone wanting to make the media more intelligent, more skeptical and better. His approach is one of many politicians, who seek to increase distrust and disillusionment with media on a whole. If I wanted to make people doubt my critics, I'd do what he was doing.
