That might well have been the most lackluster penultimate episode and resolution to the seasons conflict in the entire franchise history. Nothing about it felt congruent with the rest of the story.
Why was Hana suddenly hugging Georgie-boy and having little tender moments with him at the end? I understand they wanted to present their unfolding relationship and George's feeling for her as intensely complicated (and maybe even slightly reciprocated), but nothing about that came off properly in all their meetings, especially since they dropped the predictable bombshell that he was married to her in the future way too late. They played it too tame in all their rendezvous through the run so nothing about this came off as genuine or natural. At best I could buy Hana was just doing her normal fure fure shit for a sad and hurting ojii-san, but then why the hugs, hand-holding, sitting quietly by him, etc etc? fucking writers can't have their cake and eat it too give me the build-up damn it.
The giant bubble of protection and everyone being Cures to beat Zega-George was lame. Great way to encourage all the little girls to stand and fure fure across Japan, but if you can't even give me cool fisticuffs right there in the end then I will cry and be butthurt. Particularly I didn't like that it essentially invalidated everything George said/did and watered down the opposing themes of hope for the future versus depression. Hopefully they tone it down or show some negatives to her lifestyle in a later episode. I'd have preferred if they had made her a positive ganbariya-san or something. Everyone loves them naturally and believably.
I'll reserve judgment on the whole until the entire cast has assembled and had a few episodes to settle into their grooves, but I'm hopeful for Kaguya. She seems cool, down to earth, and her doubtful suspicioins about Oyo and Pink give her some hint of depth, for how little screentime she's gotten thus far.

These tears are 12 years late, but they're no less weaker for it. That entire sequence of the Precure somberly killing their counterparts was too brutal. And those fuckers tricked me into hoping the super ultra omega cute Dark Dream would live, be reformed, and become a part of Mirror Kingdom, only to pull the rug out from under me and kill her too.

Lame transformation and her introduction as Cure Aqua Selene was far too soon. As much as she's obedient to her controlling otou-sama, they should have stretched her decision to disobey and protect Fuwa to at least 2 episodes worth of build-up. Three, ideally. Maybe show her spending time with Fuwa alone at school over a few implied days to build a relationship, or perhaps a few scenes of her father being overbearing and dismissive to shake her faith. Something. As is, deciding to arbitrarily abandon all her ideals at a drop of a hat like that just rings hollow. Fuwa ain't that damn cute.
Furthermore, her speedy introduction immediately precludes the prospects of furthering relations between the established cast. Amamiya has 0 dynamic with either Hoshina or Oyo at the moment. Same with Kaguya. Something tells me this will be a repeat of Hugtto where the cast is absolutely glued together as a set piece.
I hate this trend of treating the cast like checkmarks to tick, episode by episode. There's nothing wrong with the occasional small mini-arc of 2-4 episodes before the inevitable befriending. Even if only for 1 character.
Also Soleil is cool. I like her fire kicks. I can almost pretend a Cure is hitting someone physically again.

What a fantastic episode. The planet was suitably alien, service of Hikaru's thighs, the Cures/Purunsu learned something, and Kappard even got to swing his lightsaber at Soleil. I am happy and content. I hope all the space voyage episodes are just as great.
