The goblins killing women senselessly when that's the only way they can breed, silver-ranked adventures that aren't GS staying at the Frontier town he's based in when all "big" threats are presumably further, soldiers not taking a goblin infestation already proven to have caused a death in a major town seriously etc. It should also be mentioned that the helmet comparison was being made between dumbass rookies and GS who are both hunting the same thing, goblins, who everyone underestimates, and not "higher tier prey" that would require better equipment.

I haven't read the mango yet, but the impression I get from the first two episodes and what I've seen other people say is that GS isn't meant to be super duper stronk in the general sense. He's silver ranked, meaning he's up there, but there are still two higher ranks filled with guys who are better. What makes GS seem like he's super duper stronk is he's a specialist. He only fights one thing - goblins - and he is very good at fighting that one thing because he has had a lot of practice fighting that one thing. Goblins are also very weak, at least individually, so as long as they aren't able to catch someone off guard or overwhelm them with numbers, they're going to get slaughtered. Even the redshirt party had no problems taking out a few individual goblins… The wizard didn't have trouble until they grabbed her and were able to overpower her with numbers, the swordsman was doing fine until he hit his sword against the top of the cave and dropped it, and the fighter girl was kicking their asses until the hobgoblin appeared. When GS showed up, he didn't just throw himself into a mob of them swinging, he picked them off individually when he could, set traps, and caught them off guard. The difference isn't one of him being such a powerful badass, it's that he's dealt with them enough to predict how they'll act and does whatever he can do to give himself every advantage possible.

The world of Goblin Slayer is not just a Dark Fantasy, it's also based around D&D. Regardless of the edition of D&D this is based on, armors both in the story and game still provide defenses, and GS' armor is described to be borderline shit tier. It seems GS seems to prefer armor that can both scale properly, and be repaired on the fly. Over some armor that gives some good bonuses but has a very high upkeep.

Certainly he could find a use for a sword the shoots fireballs, but he is more likely to find a box of matches more practical. Similarly, he knows that he only needs chainmail and some additional plating to protect him from small blades and projectiles. Any excessive heavy armor or fancy pauldrons will hinder his movement and make it harder for him to evade the attacks of larger hobgoblins. Sure an enchanted shield could be helpful for fighting dragons, but he's not fighting dragons, he's fighting goblins. 2D animation is not 'hard' but it's just so goddamn time consuming A.K.A tedious as fuck. There's a reason why alot of animation are getting outsourced recently, and that's because it actually doesn't take a whole lot of knowledge to redraw something thousands of times, it's just really tedious. Getting it 'right' just takes so much effort than drawing a simple illustration, since you need to not fuck up when drawing the 'foundation' of the animation AND to redraw the same thing dozens of times to make it move. This is why there's alot less details in anime than in the manga, since animating all those little shit takes cockloads of times so the director might as well cut down the amount of details to save precious time and budget.
CGI is used because of its consistency, you can plop down a model, make it move a little bit than to redraw the damn thing hundred of times again. It saves up alot of work. Still, it has to be done sparingly since it will look jarring if it's used for foreground stuff. Also CGI isn't the only way to reduce workload, you can just tween the shit out of something but it will looks 'off' when compared to the real animated stuff.

If anything it's interesting to see a story that addresses the pest control side of all the "epic" fantasy stories out there. All while completely forgetting about all the small villages he used to protect along the way.
In this case we get to see those neglected villages get saved while all of the other crazy shit about legions of hell and blah blah blah gets dealt with in the background. However that's also being disingenuous, since they're two complete characters, no matter which version of the Punisher you compare GS to. It's explicitly stated that the Demon Lord Loyalists were the one that put it there. The plan as far as I can tell was that the Demon Lord Loyalists would use the goblins as a cover for their satanic/murderous rituals to summon some kind of demon into the town, blaming it all the while on the goblins. Because no one takes goblins seriously, including the armor, this would allow the loyalists to keep killing people for rituals while pushing the blame on some weaker monster. Maiden knew what was going on but she herself couldn't go down there because the thought of fighting goblins makes her almost piss herself. She thought that eventually some one in the town would muster enough of a fuck to go down into the sewers to kill the goblins and find the mirror but no one ever did. Eventually the Demon King Loyalists get bodied by the "Hero" and their plans stopped, however the goblin summoning portal still remained, leaving it so that even if Sword Maiden were to ask anyone for help, she would really only be saying "please save us from the goblins". So, because no one took it seriously, she put her familiar down there near the entrance with orders to kill goblins to prevent as many as possibly from coming up as far as I understand.
The only thing I don't understand is why she ordered it to chase off adventurers. If anyone bothered to go down there that means they cared enough to give a shit about the problem. At first I assumed it was loyalists but she specifically orders the Alligator to chase them off. Also it doesn't make sense why the ruins underneath aren't mapped at all as I would assume that this mirror and loyalist plan are a recent develop, and such a structure would be rife for searching for shit.

Well a couple things. They kill the loyalists seconds after the mirror is taken. It's completely possible that they just recently showed up in town to kick some and would have dove into the sewers had goblin slayer not. Hero yells it was a "lucky roll of the dice" she found them so I'm pretty sure it's implied that she literally just showed up, correctly guessed where the loyalist was, and killed him. As a contrast to GS who doesn't rely on luck. The fact that the message of this defeat also had to be sent via "song bird" leads me to believe that the loyalist responsible for this might not even had been in town. The loyalist yells about "finding this place" which means it's either somewhere in the ruins near the edges (else they got crushed when GS brings the house down) or they weren't in the city but possibly another one of those entrances that GS and co popped out of, as it is established that the ruins stretch far far outside city limits.

Well from the 3 mangas I read on Goblin Slayer. The King's army is busy with the front lines of a war. Goblin nests pop up left and right but only attack humans when they get large enough (10+), typical there's a level 2 goblin there like a hobgoblin or a shaman to lead them. Most of the villages it seems they are on the boundary where the reach uncharted lands. Think of it as villages just newly built when the west expansion happened, but instead of bears and wolves, and Indians, the US army was dealing with let's say another war on the east so the ones expanding west were to fend for themselves. Except for Indians, goblins pop up very fast, typically infants reach maturity within days. Though it takes a bit more for them to specialize, like a hobgoblin or shaman, and riders. After that the ones that live long enough are the Champions, Lord's, and Paladins (I don't know if this in is in the manga). Not to mention Orges. So I think there can be some reasons to explain this..

The Goblin Lord only recently set up shop in the area, as it was stated it was just a small move before making plans to attack the actual town. All that GS found was marks of a scouting mission which has no indication it happened multiple times.
Reordering the arcs like this leaves a gigantic problem, as the reason that this team exists was bounding over multiple encounters. The Orge raid is just them needing GS to solve a problem for them, they barely have anything more than a professional relationship if amicable. The team appreciates GS's help and wants to help him but it feels like mostly because they just happened to be in town, and he just happened to have helped them. Then the "Adventure" knife ear wanted soldifies GS being a part of this larger "team" of adventurers more permanently. Then, because they have informally recognized each other as a viable party for adventuring GS gets summons and they tag along for the ride because it's apparently big enough to need a personal request.
Here it's just "I'm glad you helped us raid that one time, oh sure I'll go multiple days trip away into a city I've never been to deep in human territory. Obviously we're super friends after this one thing and your warm and likeable personality."
