You will probably also want to add the subtitles filter to burn subtitles into the video, and if fast-seeking (-ss before -i) will also need to fuck around with the setpts filter to not have the subtitles out-of-sync (can't remember the invocation for this sadly). -pix_fmt is critical because some of the formats will play on video players but not most browsers.
Mine for outputting the audio part without video or subtitles:

32K is a minimum for voice. 64K is generally better if you can afford if. Knowing the audio size in advance will inform how much space you have for the video.

CRF setting is dependent on the length but there's no easy correlation to output filesize. It can go from 0-63 (lower is better quality). Start with 55 for longer video. For Goblin Slayer, thankfully its animation sucks so it compresses well. After running that, run it again with -pass 2 instead.
While doing the second pass, I advise keeping an eye on the frame count vs. total frame count vs. how big the output video is so you can see how the filesize increases, and whether it's likely to over or undershoot Expected filesize = framecount / totalframes * maxvideosizeMB. You also might want to periodically try opening it in a video player (mpv is best) to ensure it doesn't look like shit. Assuming the audio and video are small enough in the end, you can then combine them. If the video is slightly too big (16 * 1024 * 1024 bytes is 8chan's limit) just re-encode the audio at a bit lower bitrate. VP9 does compress amazingly but it's also very slow to encode. You could also try bumping the audio slightly if video is too small and looks OK.

Save for a handful scenes peppered through the season, everything past the (great) first episode has been trash. What a damn waste.
And I think something's off in the rationale behind the manga\spinoffs. The idea works as long as the story is centered around GS and random nobodies: violence in this world is grounded, so you need a grounded hero like GS - while everyone else is a redshirt that only exists to make a point. But if you start having teen heroes and amazons, the message evaporates and it's just another isekai: when not-Guts hacks down a bunch of goblin champions, it's really just another isekai and nothing new. It also kind of deflates the GS himself.
Also it's kind of conflicting, that newbies can be so happy go lucky when the world is evidently so violent and cruel. The massacres due to inexperience would be all around them, which don't warrant the carefree attitude.
