Watched the first episode. Always takes me a few episodes to get used to the late 90s and/or early 00's aesthetics. Really reminded me of Digimon though that's not surprising.
Doremi was pretty annoying but as it's the first episode it's entirely understandable. I'm sure she'll drop her repeated catchphrases in an episode or 4. Her friend Hazuki was really cute if she'd just take off her nerd glasses. I would prefer JC mahou shoujo, but based on Doremi learning lessons the hard way, and soccerlad going steady with the other girl, it seems the series is going to pretend they are more mature than any kid their age should be regarding themes, plot, and writing conventions. I've seen other Satou works so I'm expecting great things hereon.

Funny. I just had a French friend tell me about this recently and I've been hooked. It's so adorable and wholesome. I just reached the episode where Pop becomes a witch. Really fun show. Sometimes things play out so ridiculously that I just need to close my eyes and cringe/laugh at what I'm watching as an adult.

Episode 3. Our town/school setting is getting expanded, there are new students, and the main three have been introduced. Things are picking up now. Couldn't have came quicker because the first two episodes, outside of showing us 2 of our leading actors, was a tad boring. Hopefully some sort of mcguffin and overarching plot kicks of soon to give our Ojamajo things to do.

Things are progressing smoothly now. The show has started to find its bearings between situation of the week, loli antics, and SERIOUS business witch training. I wasn't expecting Doremi to actually fail her level 9 witch exam. I thought for sure her morally correct actions earlier in the episode would have miraculously given her the magical insight to make it through, but no. No shortcuts and freebies in this one.

The supporting cast is actually so fantastic. All of the Ojamajo's classmates have character and life to them that isn't cheap (aka one episode only), Dela and other witch world inhabitants, while dressed fairly similarly, are all distinct enough to be memorable, and even the parents aren't neglected. I don't know how they managed to make such a lasting impression of minor characters with only so much screen time, but they did it.
Only on episode 11, but it just keeps getting better and better. The worst part of the show, ironically enough, is Doremi. She's a shithead and I'm looking forward to her inevitable character development.
