Robotics Note was so awfully paced that I stopped watching it for awhile, and when I tried to pick it back up I couldn't tell where I had left off. It could have been anywhere from episode 6 to 18. No. Mayuri is autistic and not the good kind, Kurisu is just another tsundere and Rumiho is plain annoying and has a screechy voice. I'll admit that I had a bit of a thing for Suzuha and Moeka but that's probably more so because of their situation and less because of their personalities/looks.

Oh yeah, everyone looks fucking weird in this show so in the visual department there isn't much to the girls either. It feels like a sort of modern take on the stereotypical Shoujo style where everyone has absurdly skinny limbs and huge chins.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Steins;Gate. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of moe anime most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Okabe's autistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from normalfag imageboard memes, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Steins;Gate truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Okabe's existential catchphrase "El Psy Kongroo," which itself is a cryptic reference to the Japanimation epic Sword Art Online. My gripe is that despite sending the video to the end of the original series that still happens, despite it being established that something that big such as Kurisu and Mayuri living should completely rewrite the future. So why didn't his Reading Steiner activate? They said the many world hypothesis was proven false and that convergence should just overwrite the future so why didn't that happen. It's a plot hole but I'm guessing they just wanted to conclude with that instead of imagining an idyllic future that lies within "Steins;Gate"

Steins;Gate is one of the best time travel series to date.

The general public is made of plebs, even among /a/yys here and on other sites. To understand Steins;Gate (and basically any anime nowadays) you need to study the occult. I'll reveal a few references and give a crash course in basics.

I was talking about the VN. I've not seen the adaptation, but I can't even imagine how it could get worse.

It's been too many years to pick out specific memories, but I remember being 100% onboard until the pink haired girl became a friendly character. After that point the paranoid mystery atmosphere vanished and never came up again.

I vaguely remember hating all of the dumb arm-blade characters that were never introduced properly and kind of just stood around doing nothing the whole story (nothing that we see anyway. They just kind of exist in their own world that the MC has no knowledge of.)

I remember the music girl who was a total non-character. She literally only interacted with the MC once in a "Hi, good day we're having huh?" kind of encounter, yet ended up as one of the girls desperately wishing for the MC to succeed in the big harem montage at the end.

The younger sister character shocked me by being the first example I came across of character unddevelopment. She wen't from an autonomous individual with her own personality at the start to being a lifeless husk that could only shout "onii-chan".

I hated the magic computer thing which somehow by taping a piece of paper with leet math written on it onto the Super Mega Tech Computer suddenly became able to do magic shit. I was annoyed by whole scene in general as it was one of those scenes where main girl Pink stood on the sidelines and took turns with the MC shouting eachothers names until he got motivated enough to win.

And last but not least the only and only interactive mechanic… the delusions. They are completely pointless. Do you want to see a ridiculously cringy autist fuck everyone in sight? Or would you rather see him get bullied and murdered by everyone? Or would you rather actually see the fucking story?

I gave it it's fair chance and tried for about 3 hours of different choices at different scenes and came to realize that they truly reveal no information and have no impact whatsoever on the story and are only a distraction that wasted god knows how many man-hours when they could have fixed the fucking story instead.

TL;DR: what started off as an 9/10 mystery thriller became a 1/10 shounen battle harem with all of it's complexities being only to hook you for the bait and switch.
