I'm going to attempt to breath some life into this poor dead board.

Post animal & nature related tips and tricks. Images and infographics are always a plus.

Any insect protips?

I only know the water+honey trick to give an energy boost to random moths and bumblebees.

I sometimes feed my spiderbros fruit flies when I can catch them, is that a good idea?

I've kept moths alive for several months using paper towels or sponges soaked in very sugary water. Like, the sugar to water ratio is insane. You know you've got the right mix down when they uncurl those weird tongue things to take a drink. I assume it works similar for butterflies. I won't know about bumble bees, though.

Cheap way to make beds, and really good for dogs that chew things to destruction since they are rather difficult to destroy, and cheap to replace.

You can also make cat trees out of them. I would suggest super gluing some thing, rope or left over carpet (flooring stores will give you some for cheap or free), to the pipes to give them something to scratch on too.

Animal shelters use these a lot for their dogs. It's also a good gift if you want to make a bunch and donate to them, or give them the old beds.

This month is National Pit Bull Awareness month, and apparently the ASPCA also made it adopt a shelter dog month because they don't like pit bulls. Personally I think adopt a shelter dog month is stupid because it has the potential to get people to adopt dogs they can't handle or aren't in a good position to currently adopt, just to get upboats and likes. Shelter dog awareness would have gone over a lot smoother and seem a lot less desperate.

Anyways, the ASPCA often has some good cheap ideas for shelter animals that can be used for pets, too. Pic related. Add peanut butter over the hole for a bit more of a challenge.

Some cool ideas for cat toys involving toilet paper rolls. The one is supposed to be like a cat kong; fill it with food/treats and either stuff one side with a ball or stuff one or both sides with news paper.

I'll be honest, I've never seen a cat play with this one.

Why isn't there multi-image posting here?

This is like a puzzle toy. Put cat food in the tubes and wait for kitty to paw it out

Kongs are a life saver for dogs if you need to leave them in a room or crate for long periods of time, or just to mentally stimulate them. Kongs can be filled with treats like in the pic, or just with the dogs (appropriately measured) regular meals. For dogs new to kongs, I would recommend only filling it up a third of the way with treats, and smear peanut butter around the opening but not over it.

Also, the 'tantalizer' part is actually supposed to be a hole to prevent pressure building up if you stuff your kongs to the max. Because if you tried to clean out a kong stuffed completely with, say, the kong paste, and filled that little hole, there's a chance it will plop all over you once you put a finger in. Physics, man. Of course, you can avoid that by knocking the kong against the side of a trash can or sink to dislodge the insides

Check under the hood of your car for cats sheltering in a warm place in the winter. Bang on the hood to scare cats out. Or not. Whatever floats your boat.

Fried cats can cost a ton in car damage, and they make your car smell like beef jerky whenever you turn the air on.
