I'm working on 2D top view shooter, think doom with hotline miami graphics, although it could change, I'm working on the engine for now, then I want to assemble a crew to make the game. But i would really like to have at least one graphician with me to help out with some testing shit and just for chatting.

The engine is writen in C++ plus SDL2, although i use my own functions for ploting screen, then i just update a texture with my pixel data and render it. As it is now it works on Windows and Linux (and propably everything else SDL2 supports, but I didn't try it)

Wait until you have a working pre-alpha prototype with placeholder graphics...THEN try to get a graphics person.

If you've only just started working on the engine, you're too early into the game dev to need a graphics person on board.

Graphics, music and sound always go last. No artist will want to work for a game, if he can't see the game existing in the first place.

Make a fully working protype with placeholder assets, and post updates here, and you might get artists interested way more easily.

I don't need "artist" really, just someone who can draw some shit. And I already have rendering the level, which is pretty fast... (doing it in 500x loop takes less than 400ms on my crappy i3 laptop (regardless of the map size !) ) i'm working on animated sprites

As for my steam. I have normal account, but i gave it to my lil bro and I made new one.

Correction, it takes 160-163ms to draw the level 1000times, so basically 0.16 Ms.

It's build with mod support in mind (like in source/goldsrc games, you can just create new folder, paste your files there and launch the game with -mod argument.

It has very basic console (so far only changig variables and binding) you can bind almost any function (or several functions, there's no limit) to any key

Ok let me say it again, sorry if it's a bit confusing, english is not my first language.

I would really appreciate someone who can draw me some testing assets while coding the engine. I don't need l33t graphician just yet, but if I can focus on the code and have the graphics done quickly by someone who is familar with the process it would help a lot. I can draw some assets, sure, but it's all so ugly and I'm losing a lot of time on that.

That's what you want.

Just because you don't need a professional doesn't mean you don't need an artist, a "graphics guy" and "an artist" are the same thing.

I feel like you're trying to avoid saying that you won't pay for the art.
