Here is the source to Undertale. I have no idea how long it will stay availible. The password to the archive is dapple because it wouldn't let me upload otherwise, I think it was the music. Anyhow, this game was created in Game Maker, so it wasn't rocket science.

This is a "decompiled" source, and will not easily work compiling it back with GM. I am working on that now, but it may be some time. You have to manually re-introduce each asset and fix broken linking.

I hope to have a compiling version sometime soon, but no promises. If someone else gets the initiative, then have at it.

Also note that Game Maker assets are compiled, which means you will either need to re-introduce them into Game Maker to export/use them, or you will need to use the Game Maker api and decompile them that way.

I am curious to see if this helps with finding any further secrets. It could also help you learn a bit about game development. I am just to busy for sifting through it.

Again, password to archive is:

How the fuck did you get this, OP? And is it a virus?

fcd969 (2) No.24342>>24346

>>24341

I decompiled it, and no, it's not a virus.

I'm intrigued. Grabbing it now. How readable is it? I'm not sure how messy or uncommented stuff looks from GMS when decompiled manually.

I was pretty excited until I found out that Game Maker doesn't run on Linux. Oh well.

If compiling it yourself takes too long then maybe you could host what you have so far on I2P's anonymous Git service (or you could try gitgud.io but it might get taken down) so that people could help? I'm a complete newfag so I have no idea if it would work for this kind of project, though.

I was more interested in the sprites/music/ect at the time. There are a few hidden paths in Undertale, and this is one way to find them. The code is not easy to compile. It needs a fair bit of work before that's even considerable.

and honestly... They should have just used Unity to make this game. I would love to know their reasoning for choosing GM.

ee188b (2) No.24349>>24350

I use Unity over Game Maker too, which is why I'm not too sure how to import these assets into GMS. I was wanting to see their scripts and object structures, but can't seem to figure it out.

3eeeb8 (4) No.24350

>>24349

I am going to keep working on it. It is my goal at least get it readable. Maybe if that can be done, perhaps the game can be converted over to Unity manually.

Ha, in the string output there is this:

"Part of this game's charm is the mystery of how many options or secrets there are. If you are reading this, please don't post this message or this information anywhere. Or doing secrets will become pointless.

demonx

By the way, most of the seemingly unused text/files are used.

If you can find the in-game context for an asset, you can show it off. But if you can't, it probably means you haven't looked hard enough. Anything truly unused I'll probably post myself, later.

demonz

Living in a world like this, where people can simply cheat out the answers from the code... your impatience has REALLY damaged you, hasn't it?

I unironically enjoy how much little stuff you can find in every nook and cranny of Undertale's building blocks.

Hi Toby I enjoyed your game besides some really gay shit in there.

>decompiled

You don't have source code son, anybody can do this. You don't have comments and other important documentation like diagrams to figure what the fuck is actually going on. Furthermore it's probably an inaccurate facsimile. Sage and check 'em.

>Bumps topic that's been inactive for a month.

>Sages

Also OP probably has probably lost interest anyways after the Undertale high wears off or GMS code is just too difficult to crack atm.
