I felt a bit dissapointed because my whole idea of reaching out to the kink community was just simply that, being kinky with others in private.

I simply did not voice my opinion in any ocasion and started going less and less until I simply cut ties with everyone in the group, one girl who was a little bit interested in me kept contacting me for a couple of months but I simply stopped answering because it made me sad what the group turned into.

Later on, I heard about abuse accusations being thrown around here and there, and eventually the group broke down entirely due to claims of betrayal, abuse and not respecting rules pre-established in the forum we met. Sadly almost all of the participants did present traits of deep seated trauma or mental unstability I'm not excluding myself of course , the one I remember with a heavy hart was a 20yr old girl transitioning (FtM) dating a 50yr old dude which clearly had been raped by someone in her own family and kept coming with new and unhealthy ways to cope with that.

Can't imagine you have never heard of German Windelfreizeiten. They are advertised for on every major site I know when they happen. They might not be as large as they used to be 10 years ago, but they still exist, and if you attend "pub meetups", the vetting process is close to non-existent.

Things like CAPcon or larger furry events might be hard to come by here, though. But I'm not even sure if I would attend events like that regularly. It's hard enough to get to know 20-30 people when you spend a weekend with them in a secluded place. Go beyond that, and it becomes basically impossible, and it might be hard to keep out creeps that take photos or that make people too uncomfortable to get into the right head space.
