Come and join a movie stream with fellow anons where we join in the yearly celebration of our dear mothers.

To fit the motherly theme, we will be watching Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms which is the directorial debut of Mari Okada.

The movie will be at 8pm EST (5pm PST) on Sunday, which is mother's day. Don't forget to call and/or hug your mother.

The very first minutes the elder tells the main character, that they are a lonely clan and they should never go to the mortal world. I was ~~crying~~ tearing up, even before anything happened, because it would be incredibly sad, then I barely cried, trough the entire movie. Overall it had a happy ending.

Just wanted to say that the movie had a great theme of wholesome motherhood and of raising a family, I could have seen this go in many wrong directions but it ends up being a movie that works.

It's a movie that turns everyone into a blubbering woman, even with the blatant "cry here" signs posted all throughout the end.
