I just finished watching Anne Happy.

Overall, it was very disappointing. Simply put, it wasn't very good.

The main reason I picked this up and sat through 12 episodes is that I was very intrigued by the premise. The characters are all uniquely unlucky (luck is a major theme in the show). They are all enrolled in what is known as "happiness class", where you learn to be happy (despite one's misfortune). I really liked this premise and thought it had potential.

I'm also conducting a systematic review of anime that aired in 2016 on account of me being severely autistic.

I quickly realized the poor quality of the show, and mainly watched it as a low priority "filler" anime for when I was too tired and just wanted to stare at a screen but not watch anything I actually cared about. I also would put it on when in a depressed mood to try to immerse myself in the happiness class setting.

Anyway, the reality of the show is that it is extremely unfunny. Unfortunately the screentime is dominated by low quality comedy. The characters themselves and their interactions are all lame. The art style is lame (silver link also was a factor that enticed me to watch this). The OST is lame. The production quality wasn't terrible or anything, it's just that the content fundamentally wasn't good.

The positive:

Some might find the absurdist aspects of the show funny or entertaining. The character designs are kind of cute (though lacking in variety).

5/10. Wouldn't recommend unless you're obsessed with SOL comedies.

I thought most of the cast was cute enough, what I didn't like was how the happiness class went off into absurd trials and shit, when the main appeal of the show were simply the cute girls.

Die, go back to the character creation screen, and become someone with decent interest in anime. AnneHappy was great and it was hilarious. The girls were lovely. Botan was the cutest. They each had their own flavor of autism/bad luck. The fan service was great when it happened.

I'd say it was an above-average cute girls show, though by no means one of the best. The cyberspace episode and the garden episode were pretty good. I liked the girl in love with the construction site sign and Timothy the best.

I like absurdism, so I had a lot of fun with it. If you just wanted cute girls being friends, there are certainly shows that do it better, but the bizarre challenges and fucking Timothy made it a lot of fun. I still listen to the OP every now and then.

Normally I'd be willing to discuss this but could you please phrase any of your arguments in a manner other then 'lame', or otherwise expand on what 'lame' actually entails? The only complaint that seems potentially valid in your entire post is that the majority of the screentime is comedy segments, though I'm not sure what else you'd be expect from shoujo ai comedies.

On a personal note: Fuck you.

>BD sales barely averaged 1000

>manga ended last november

>chance of S2 almost nil

Maybe I'll give the other stuff the mangaka has made a shot.

I normally don't care about that kind of characters, but I really liked Teacher. I also remember the scene with the thunderbolt and that someone assessed that it was valid, diving underwater to avoid getting zapped. Dunno who is my favorite, I really liked all the girls.

Did you remember if the person said how far underwater you need to be?

Teacher helps to protect all the students from themselves and their unlucky quirks, without her these students would have hurt themselves severely a long time ago.
