About time I rewatch it all.

 No.921709

Now that is truly sad. I guess I'll have to make time to rewatch some Lupin shows and movies I might have missed.

 No.921710

I just started re reading Lupin Sansei tonight.

At least it wasn't 31, then it would have been a tragedy.

 No.921736

I should really get back to watching all the Lupin episodes, this is the saddest excuse I could have.

 No.921737

F. I guess I'll give finishing red jacket another try. Definitely going to rewatch Cagliostro.

At least the man got to live to a ripe age and saw how loved his work was.

 No.921744

I found out about this at school. God what a depressing day this was.

You should just stick the former and forget Cagliostro; it's entry level Lupin that de-fangs him, turning him from lecherous adventurous thief into some bland do-gooder robin hood for normalfags to lap up while shiting on Monkey Punch's original characterizations.

Well, that sucks. I remember watching a dubbed interview with the guy like 14 years ago or so. He said something along the lines of learning your own style by copying the author you like the most and that was the way he learned and developed his own. That really moved me and since then every time I read some mango I study what cool shit I can copy and make my own.

Gonna miss the old guy, wish one could sacrifice shitty mangaka to let the talented ones live longer.

Cagliostro is a fine action/adventure film. It's just not a Lupin film.

I would sooner forget american weebs and their closet normalfag need to be hipsters. You neither love this art or people if you're always looking for an edge to fuck someone over.

Knowing the shifting themes of the series is one thing. Campaigning for the righteous fundamentalism is millennial.

I watched first, second, four & five series, plus the OVA series not long ago, and I am downloading the Mamo & Castle movies now. Fuck, it hurts. Rest in pieces, Monkey Punch.

>Do normalfags shit on the original characterizations? Why?

Because of the whole "No bad thoughts, no bad feels, no bad words" attitude normalcucks have, and that Lupin actually acts like a criminal in the original manga. He has an uneasy relationship with Jigen, not to mention Goemon is initially trying to kill him. And then there's Fujiko being raped. Pic related is the type of cancer that continues to downplay Monkey Punch's original manga.

>shifting themes

It's not "shifting themes", the anime is a straight-up new thing, only really maintaining the Lupin-Zenigata dynamic.

Manga Lupin is a legit rascal that turns on people he's working with quite a bit, anime Lupin is just sort of a tame Robin Hood with a sex gag (who rarely gets to have sex anyway).
