You only had random scenes and monologues, because you couldn't guess the feelings and motivations of any of the important characters. Well, other than Iroha. I distinctly remember watching S2 and being completely baffled every episode, I would need to come back here and have a couple other /a/utists help me decipher what happened. About 50% of it made sense, the other half didn't really even when you were reading between the lines. Another big problem with it is that there was a great deal lost in translation. Even with the stuff being mashed together in the episodes, it was obvious that a lot of nuanced, deeper messages were intended, and that could easily get fucked up by the translation choice of a single word. Here and there I had serious problems figuring out what 8man was actually fucking saying (sometimes it just seemed like a lot of words without cogent meaning) or what his motivations were, which made sense only when I pulled back and tried to look at the big picture or had other /a/nons fill in the gaps.
Watching S2 was like trying to map out a dark room in your mind only through feeling and stumbling around touching the walls.

Some random bits and parts are also translated though. Then plebbit decided that they will do what only they can do, and translated volume 13. Yes, they didn't bother with 12, and I have no idea how good (or bad) of a job they did with it. I'd rather not even think about it. Then there's the official translation too, but I have no idea about the quality of that either, and they aren't up to volume 10 as far as I know.
