>No, the entirety of Adv.2 was the writers jerking off the nu-kids over how great and better than the original characters they were while humbling the original kids.
I'm gonna have to disagree. Other than Ken, who was shown to be the best at tons of things to make him a threatening villain, and then lost all those powers when he became a good guy, the other characters are shown to be newbies who slowly become as good as the originals, but not better, so they still need the originals around in the final bunch of episodes, where they all work together. They never really treat them as better than the originals, they just come up with a plot reason to write out the originals, and then write them back in by the end. Takeru and Hikari are also shown to be better, especially at the start, due to them not being new.
>Adventure 2 was hung up on Adventure 1 to the point where it revolves around Adv. 1 references & the old characters (human, Digimon and other) without of course giving people what they actually want more Adv. 1 that is the old kids kicking ass.
But it does. Especially by the end. And even at the start, when only Takeru and Hikari are particularly important, with the others only having spotlight episodes, it's still a similar tone and style, which Tri lacks.
Soy Wars goes out of its way to make its characters seem better than the originals at everything. 02 does not. Go ahead and argue you'd prefer if they didn't have the new kids, I get that, but the way they're handled is totally different and way better than Soy Wars or Mei from Tri.
>Yes, I love the part where the original kids could not evolve their digimon anymore (power retcon)
Not really a retcon, just explaining that stuff happened between seasons to depower them. Then they get their power back later. It's just for the sake of restarting the power levels and not making people wonder why the first episode wasn't already dealing with threats more powerful than Omegamon.
>This not only renders the original kids (as in Adv.1) irrelevant since anyone can not only exhibit exactly the same traits in a way to allow Digimon to evolve but the idea that they can hold many traits on top of this is ridiculous as it trivializes the concept of digidestines (the internationalism later in Adv. 2 further does this). Whereas in Adv. 1 I recall there was a fear that the digidestined might lose the traits that they were chosen for.
>Digidestinies
dubfags GET OUT
But furthermore, the kids in Adventure 1 did lose the traits, between the first movie and the first episode, and then had to gain them back. Anyone could. But we've already done that arc and don't need to see it again. Instead they do other stuff with them. I don't really see the problem. I'm not going to argue it's as good as Adventure 1, but it doesn't make the other ones irrelevant. Adventure 1 already describes that there were earlier Chosen Children, and the way they were chosen, which was because they had already witnessed Digimon in the first movie. Due to events of Adventure 1, lots of other people were exposed to Digimon and thus could become Chosen Children as well. It all fits with the Adventure 1 lore. I get that you're arguing it makes them seem less special, but I disagree. There are still problems that they in particular are called to deal with. I'm sure the other people have their own things going on as well. Just because Batman exists that doesn't mean Superman isn't special anymore. They all have their own things going on.
>Adventure 02 is worse than Tri because shippers got butthurt that their ships didn't work out
Faggot.
