Oh boy! I am not alone!

Knitting is piss-easy. All it takes is time and effort, just like any other hobby. All instructions are available online in videos. Just search for "how to knit" and you will get 10000 tutorials, tips and tricks for any project. You don't need much training either. Just try try and try some more.

They are very useful for knitting as well. You can easily use them to correct mistakes you have made earlier.

I am currently making a sock and will start on another cap soon.

I owned some of those myself, because they are quite easy to make if you just started out and really comfy for supporting your wrist while writing.

Crocheting was a bit more meticulous/dexterous job than knitting, however, fun in it's own way. By the way my first tryout really seems to want to bend itself.

Having certain loops tighter or looser than others will make that happen. It is actually extremely useful for fiber reinforced polyerms, which can use a form of knitting or crocheting for arranging the fibers around a given shape. Carbon fiber tubing is produced this way.
