Old thread is way past bump limit.
Check in with your waifu. How has your love for your waifu grown recently? What is your preferred method of headpatting your waifu? Does she like a rough head fluffing, or a gentle caress of the palm? Do you brush the whole length of her hair, or localize it behind the ear or atop her head? Is your waifu more of a headpat receiver or a headpat giver? What does your waifu's hair smell like?

My waifu is addicted to headpats, and she is certainly more inclined to receiving them. That said, she has latent motherly qualities and can give headpats when she sees fit. She usually likes a moderate ruffle of the hair, but I would tease her with light strokes across the nape and behind the ear if it's a head-on-lap session. Her hair smells like coconut shampoo or old spice shower gel.

If you follow the recipe properly and pay attention to what you're doing, it should turn out just fine. Don't get distracted while they're in the oven and be ready to take them out quickly once the bell rings. Since you're not used to baking, after the first batch you can wait a few minutes for them to cool off on the cookie rack and sample one to see if you need to adjust the baking time. This way you can tell if your cookies are getting done, and lengthen or shorten the time by a minute for the next batch if they're too done or not done enough. Also make sure to preheat the oven and always check to make sure the temperature is on the right setting before sticking them in and waking away.

For bootlegs, hobbyheart now called moemarket. Decent quality and cheap compared to a legit daki cover. You can also look through mandarake or other second-hand stores for unopened daki covers, which is more expensive but obviously the quality will be better. Also, bootleg stores don't have every design. There's also Booth on pixiv if you already have an artist in mind and he's selling his work on there.

Baking seems intimidating when you first try sifting through hundreds of recipes and can't make sense of the what and why. But it really isn't complicated or difficult to make great stuff though eking out that last 5% into world class territory is a bit funkier. The keys to successful baking is using weight measurements and thinking in terms of ratios/bakers percentages. Volume measurements can be inaccurate. Make sure to get a reliable kitchen scale.
It's also important to know the accuracy of your oven and how it temperature cycles. It's not guaranteed that your oven's thermostat is accurate, especially if it's old. The surefire way is to get an accurate temperature probe thermometer like a thermoworks dot or chefalarm if you're a burger. If you're not willing to spend the money on one of those which you should, digital thermometers are incredibly useful for general cooking, you could get a general idea of your oven characteristics buy getting one of those ready to bake cookie packages at the store. These can act as a poor mans calibrator since they are carefully tested to be consistently done at the stated time and temperatures. You spread the cookies over the entire baking pan and bake on the center rack of the oven at the exact temperature and time specified on the package. Then you see how the cookies are baked. If they are underdone then you know your oven is running cool, if overdone then you know the oven is running hot. If just some of the cookies are over/underdone then you know that you have a hot/cold spot in that corresponding area of the oven. Once you understand your individual ovens characteristics then you can adjust the time and temperature accordingly. Also it's good to have as much thermal mass in the oven as possible to keep the temperature fluctuations to a minimum. I stick all of my cast iron cookware into the oven when I bake to act as a thermal battery as its temperature cycling alone can cause it to fluctuate +/- 50F.

I've played around with the idea of coming up with my own cookbook for personal use that would be more explicit and instructional than traditional recipes. Basically the kind of thing that tells you the sort of things nobody else tells you and you end up having to discover by yourself the hard way or through a lot of experimentation. Things like what kind of utensils you need to have on hand, what ingredients can be substituted for others, what the actual point of adding certain ingredients is, indicators for when something is sufficiently cooked instead of arbitrary time limits, even just having the entire dish be scaled based on the quantity of one or a few core ingredients instead of being given as "use x amount of ingredient y, yields z portions". Actually more of an instructional book on cooking with very rigorously explained examples of useful dishes, like I wish I had to learn from. If anyone knows if something like that already exists, I'd love to know about it.
If I ever actually put anything together, I'll make sure to post it some day. Don't get your hopes up for the healthy part though. I also need to actually get good at cooking first.

Cooking in general is already autistic enough that injecting any more /a/utism is kind of unnecessary, especially japanese cuisine. >Would you be OK with her marrying someone else once sufficient time has passed?
You're quite the little demon aren't you? Asking such terrible questions.
While the notion of "until death do us part" exists, not everyone considers it to be an excuse to remarry. A true undauntable love would last an eternity, with the survivor remaining loyal until they rejoin their lover in death. I would hope she waits for me as my soul would wait for her, either in the afterlife or in my next incarnation if I have one.
Hopefully she won't remain truly alone for the duration however. She should still be able to smile for our children (and grandchildren) and her friends at the mansion.

>A true undauntable love would last an eternity, with the survivor remaining loyal until they rejoin their lover in death.
I think a clear distinction has to be made between replacing you and finding someone to not be lonely anymore.
Living with someone in close proximity or a relationship even doesn't come close to the physical, mental and romantic connection that marriage brings. I don't think her finding someone else for comfort would be bad as long as she made it clear that he is not meant to replace me.

I've thought about this myself. Among most fans of her franchise, her time in the sun has already passed. All the best art and even 2chan memes are from well over a decade ago. First will come the death of the franchise. The fanart, which is currently a trickle made by devoted but amateur artists, will slow to a halt. In a few decades the seiyuu will even pass away. I'd like to think I'll be an old man and she'll still have some loyal fans, but I don't know. Who knows if the internet will even still exist then? There may come the time where I might be the last person on Earth who cares for her, but even I must die. I sometimes imagine myself having picked up drawfagging just to keep her spirit alive. But anyway, I have to enjoy the time I have left with her, until hopefully, we meet again on the other side.

With regards to file formats changing, I figure there would be plenty of opportunities to convert old files to the new format. If there aren't it shouldn't be hard to maintain a couple of older systems just to browse old content. In the case of Kat and her games, I might be fucked over if nobody is capable of putting together a PS4 emulator in the future. Time will tell, and we will adapt as is necessary.

>Would you be OK with her marrying someone else once sufficient time has passed?
This is a cruel question. I'm pretty adamant about my hatred of NTR and similar ilk, but I'm basically directly opposed to >>907489 on this one. If you waifu an immortal or near-immortal being, you are a selfish cunt to expect her to be without you forever and ever onwards after you've died. Even if you had children, your bloodline would eventually either die off or dilute until your presence within them is nonexistent. That doesn't even get into what if one of your great, great grandsons is a terrible person and tries to do something unforgivable to your waifu, and her love of you keeps her from retaliating properly against the little shit? I think it's important for her to remain loyal to you while the memory of you is still around, but it's cruel to expect a mortal feelings of love from an immortal/pseudo-immortal being that doesn't even process time the same way you do. If your waifu has a lifespan in the hundreds, then I think it's justifiable to expect loyalty after your death since in this day and age, you could easily live into the 100s with your waifu's help which would be a significant portion of her life even if you met in your late 20s/30s. If she lives for thousands of years or longer though, then at most I might expect loyalty for a century, maybe a few centuries, but I'd hope she'd eventually move on while maybe keeping a memento of me like I've kept mementos of her, since the alternative is much crueler of a fate for her.

Ah, the long term. Impermanence seems to be the rule, rather than the exception. Information eventually degrades, no matter the format. There was some research done in the early 80s to try and figure out a way to best warn people in the far future about nuclear storage sites. Languages, borders, governments, everything changes over a long enough span of time. The challenge of creating warnings that would outlast 10,000 years of change brought about some interesting suggestions. One of those suggestions was starting a new religion, dubbed the "Atomic Priesthood". Such a religion would attempt to integrate moral lessons alongside practices that would keep future populations safe from hazardous waste. In a hard collapse situation people will make and share stories. There's no reason your waifu couldn't slowly integrate into local lore/religion that way so that she's not forgotten so easily. This is all from the standpoint of a waifu as a piece of information. I don't think that captures the whole experience between anon and his waifu. If your waifu knew of you and loved you before you ever knew her, then there's some aspect of her that exists outside of time. This means your love exists beyond time.

Most old image formats can be transferred into new ones rather easily. In the end it's just pixels on a screen, and screens are just displaying colours and brightness. You can easily write a scrip that turns old image formats into new ones, so losing currently existing image is probably not going to happpen as long as you have a backup and at least one legacy machine.
A more difficult transition would be holographic projections taking over, or something entirely different that requires artists to come up with all new art that is stored and displayed in a completely different manner. VR is a good example.
Sure, you can display 2D images in VR, but human beings are 3D, and the point of VR is 3D. Shinobou-bro had to do quite a bit of work himself to get his waifu to work in there. It's a completely new format, and unless you pick up the pen or the mouse rather yourself, it is entirely possible that your waifu never finds her way into that medium.
No.907754

I reckon your best bet for long-term preservation might be to pick an ultra-durable storage medium (eg. laser-etched defects embedded in solid quartz) and hope that your waifu is viewed as historically interesting in a few thousand years. If you can make your waifu's anime/manga out-last all similar works, future historians will likely take over the task of preservation and even public dissemination.
Don't forget to include human-readable instructions detailing both how to read the raw binary from the physical storage device and how to decompress and display the anime/manga. I'd put macroscopic engravings in English on the surface which define the reading procedure and the basic ASCII character set. You can then give more detailed filesystem and file format specifications at the start of the microscopic binary data.

Historically that makes sense. You'd have to be strong and successful to provide for multiple wifes (or at least lucky enough to be born in a wealthy family) which makes it a rare privilege. That's not true in case of 2D. As proven by any normalfaggot who makes a My top 10 waifus of this season list, declaring a girl to be your waifu is very simple. Buying merch, doing art, cooking, taking fotos, having a shrine or any other creative way of showing your love are optional. All it takes to have a waifu is to state that you have one.
But there's one thing that you can give her. Your dedication. Your love and the decision that you won't love any other girl besides her is the one thing that you can do.
If you aren't even willing to go that far then why do you assume you've the right to even have a waifu, let alone multiple?

That's understandable. You aren't meant to like them, you are meant to fear them. I am an IG-fag myself, so they are sadly a part of the fluff, but I would rather have my dudes retreat and fight another day than stupidly getting slaughtered because some fag wanted to get a promotion.

Commissars treat even the bravest souls of the Emperor like absolute shit. But 40k wouldn't be 40k if it wasn't for grimdark. Commissars aren't an integral part of the Imperial Guard, but they are an important part of making guardsmen feel disposable, which puts emphasis on the vastness of the Imperial Guard and how absolutely impossible peaceful normality has become.

Had to go to work today. We were building an important circuitboard for an important customer in town, and setting up the build to work on 5G infrastructure. We have an exclusive contract for some prototype boards for processes that have never been done before that handle an important aspect of 5G cell towers, with which they can't function without, and I hate it. The power flickered about 5 times before it finally died on us and the CEO sent us all home right before the storm really started. Got to watch a bunch of idiots driving on the roads though who don't know how to drive on ice on hills, so it was fun. I had about eight cars following behind me doing 20 under the speed limit (since my truck was digging a path in the snow) while I blared Russian songs and threw a bottle of soda out the window at some dumb fucker who tried to speed around me on solid ice and slammed into the wind wall because he was driving a tiny sports car. >What kind of job are you applying for?
I'm looking in oil, but really I'll take just about anything that has me fixing shit instead of manufacturing shit and pays a decent wage at this point. I'm considering becoming a city bus driver to get my CDL for $200 instead of $3000 and then immediately looking elsewhere for employment since all the technician positions are demanding either 6 years experience or a CDL license for entry-level positions these days. Mostly working my back and shoulder muscles. The easiest way to work your lats is legitimately gonna be the lat pulldown machine or horizontal row machine. You'll see the best results that way. If you refuse to use machines though, which I definitely understand, than your options are rows, dumbbell lateral raises, and dumbbell windmills. Maybe weighted pullups.

My suggestion is alternate between straight-bar deadlifts (for lower back/upper back) and trap-bar deadlifts (for shoulders and upper legs), and use the abdominal machine as it will train you to intake air better/make your core stronger for major lifts all around. For grip, nothing really beats shrugs and lateral raises, though if you can afford to buy fat bar dumbbells or fat bar grips to put on regular dumbbells, forearm curls and farmer walks will do the trick there (and farmer walks also have the advantage of building functional core strength).

>but I have no idea what I'm doing exercise wise when I get into the water.
First comes a little warmup exercise outside of the water. Ride a bike or walk there. If you can't do those, just walk around the building a couple times. Once you are warmed up you stretch a little. Arms, shoulders, pects, legs, sides and so on. You won't need to stretch much but thoroughly.
Then you get used to being in the water. Mammalian diving reflex will kick in at first, lowering your heart rate and general performance. You need to get past that by swimming a couple hundred meters/yards. Figure out how long one track in your hole is. Olympic pools are 50m long, small ones are 25m. You can ask the staff or maybe look it up on their website if you aren't sure.
For beginners something like 100m is fine. But you want to increase your warmup to something like 400m soon. After warmup swimming you do your exercise. You can do stamina, technique or sprints, just like when doing athletics outside the water.
Stamina and sprints are straight forwards. You either swim for a long distance or a short distance, and try to improve your time. Technique is a whole nother thing, and if you don't know how to swim properly (front crawling, Breaststrokes, Backstroke and Butterflystroke) you should probably start studying those. Despite what people are trying to tell you: Breast stroke is one of the hardest techniques to master. It is far harder to do breaststrokes properly than it is to do front crawling. Start with front crawling. Get a pull buoy to train arms and do legs by pushing against the edge.
You can't learn technique over the internet or from books. I really suggest you to join a local club if you are interested. One hint I can give you though: if you are splashing about lots of water, or you can feel it moving around you in a rough manner, you are doing it wrong. Look at videos of olympic swimmers. It might look like they are producing a lot of splashing in real time, but in slowmotion you can see just how little they actually do. Most of what you notice on TV are just water drops getting flung from their limbs as they leave the water. The less water you move forwards or sideways, the less energy you are wasting.
After you are done with your main course (1 hour or so), do some low intensity cool down, something like 400m or so, get out, shower and dry off properly. I got sick so fucking often from not properly drying off and rushing home instead. Don't be stupid like me.

Eh? Breast stroke comes more naturally as a movement than any other style though? You are wrong, and >>912592 is right. Getting into breaststrokes is extremely easy, since you are essentially just leaning forwards in the water and using coordinated movements of your arms and legs to generate some forwards thrust. However, that is not what athletic breast strokes are. Proper athletic breasts strokes depend entirely on reducing your drag, which is extremely difficult to do. One wrong move and you easily lose a second over 25m. Breast strokes are the most difficult style to master.

After thinking and sleeping on it for a while then reading the radio thread again, I sorted out several topics that were all overlapping in my head last night. Ultimately these ideas are all derived from the same conclusion or if you prefer, they all point to the same conclusion. There are three ideas in-play here, strict religion, broad spirituality, and waifus.
Strict religion is as the name implies one of many (often the 3 Abrahamic) well established and systematic set of guiding principles for people to live by. Strict religion attempts to answer the fundamental questions of human consciousness such as “what is the meaning of my life?” and “who made me?” along with defining certain rituals and outlawing others. The intention is to comfort man as he struggles through his own existence and guide him toward a life he may enjoy. As the great majority of humans practice one or more of the strict religions, most everyone is aware of the major ones including their associated practices and teachings. When Sanaefag posted
>That's fucking heresy repent for your sins and be right with whatever God or gods you believe in.
I asked
>How does this work for atheism?
The real question was “What would an atheist repent to?” As atheism takes the position that there is no God or “creator” in the broad sense, there would be nothing to accept sins. A sin is a subjective concept regardless, as a cursory inspection of the strict religions will indicate. Sanaefag replied
>They're already spiritually dead and I have no pity for them. If they can not grasp even a little bit that their is a spiritual aspect to humanity then there is no hope for them
>I feel sorry for them and it makes me sad the emotional distance is from knowing they will find it eventually. You can only save and help so many.
This takes the position that atheism is a practice for those without spirituality. That may indeed be the case for atheism as intended (I dont know) but I wasn’t satisfied with that answer. It made the assumption that strict religion and broad spirituality are equivalent. I don’t think this is the case but couldn’t sort out exactly why during the stream.
Spirituality is almost a parent of strict religion. A better term than “parent” might be “superset”. A strict religion seeks to define clear rituals, answer questions, and generally provide a well established guidebook for humans. Spirituality as a whole makes no attempt of such structure and instead allows the humans to define for themselves such questions/answers and their own practices. I think atheism is a kind of spirituality but not a strict religion, at least atheists are not aware of it yet. One anon posted about Plato’s allegory of the wall. It fits quite well to my view of this. The strict religions are created by the shadow masters or those who create the shadows on the wall of the cave. A vast majority of people observe the shadows and pick shapes they like or shaped their ancestors liked. These people believe sometimes so profoundly in their favorite shadow they kill and reject non-believers over it. Atheism seems to be for those who do not like any established shadow and are not satisfied with the current state of affairs. Some atheists are aware something is not right but cannot move away from the wall upon which shadows are cast. Its the equivalent of a child listening to an argument with their parents and thinking “youre both wrong” but being too young to leave or intervene.
No.913398
>>913397
Plato’s allegory continues to describe people whom have left the shadow puppet show and travel outside. They see the puppet show for what it is and are able to see things few others can. This is where general spirituality is found once the strict religions are removed. The answers and practices are left up to the individual. These posts seem to agree
>Find God yourself. You know he's there. If you know that you've been lied to, but you know he's there, what do you feel must be?
>Explore that impetus. You don't need an official faith. The most powerful faith is the one you find for yourself. For me, the gate to my spirituality was beauty. It was the thing that made life worth living. I see it in nature, in the friendship of anons, and my waifu. When life is dark I think of these things, and it gives me
>You will find your god, whether its an omnipotent being who wishes for you to care for those that might cause them the same fate they fell to or something like pristine woodland. Its kinda like a waifu.
>Ask yourself what you think faith is. You have faith that certain actions will lead to certain results. Even if it's mechanical stuff like billiard balls colliding into each other. You trust those things will happen. There's so much beyond the experience of the immediate and local. There are so many beautiful things, and the experience of life has so much in it when you're open to it. So much of our world operates on this trust, too. You might just find a spirituality that resembles a profound appreciation for nature. You might find that subtle things beyond mechanical description factor in to the world. Greater men than any of us concluded that there was something beyond the material. Explore with an open mind.
To me the atheist can be described a lot like the normalfags who struggle at being normalfags. They have realized at least subconsciously something is amiss but lack the resources (physical or mental strength) to seek something else. Personally I’m not interested in any strict religion. They are all fun to analyze from the perspective of the shadow puppet master especially when you find out many religions are identical but just perceived differently by followers, but have little value to me. The presence or absence of a God is not going to affect whether I make black tea or green tea. God is not going to guide me to the right answers on an exam. Whether I pray to God before a meal or not has no affect on how it tastes. These simplistic, perhaps trifling, ideas are a small but practical part of the reason I see strict religion as unimportant.
One anon said
>You have faith that certain actions will lead to certain results. Even if it's mechanical stuff like billiard balls colliding into each other. You trust those things will happen.
Which is an interesting starting point for discussing faith. I trust that billiard balls will behave a certain way because Newtonian mechanics governs their behavior. Following that logic, you could say I have faith in Newtonian mechanics. My issue is the semantics in truth. The term “faith” invokes images of strict religion whereas the term “trust” or “confidence” is more neutral in connotation. The concept is unchanged however. A billiard ball will move in accordance to the forces acting upon it. If the forces are all of a classical Newtonian physics nature then so be it. If God feels like manifesting and moving the ball then so be it. If Meichan uses cartado magic to make the ball spin then so be it. What I’m getting at is that the ball will move when disturbed (faith in physics) and the source of the disturbance (typical physics, God, magic, etc) is not of importance to me. Perhaps that is one kind of faith. In a non-personal sense faith can take any number of forms. Some anons said beauty in physical (nature on Earth) and non-physical (waifu) forms.
Now we can discuss how this relates to the waifu. Here as well this is subject to variance in how each person interprets the role and significance of a waifu. There is no doubt that having a waifu and practicing some variety of waifuism is a kind of spirituality. It is far away from the structure of strict religion and from the discomfort of atheism. For some people that have escaped Plato’s cave, the waifu is the answer to many questions, most often “what am I doing this for?” The usual response “do it for her” provides motivation and also some amount of humility maybe to avoid becoming overly selfish. Many waifu believers have pursued other forms of spirituality like strengthening their mental state through learning and meditation while others seek physical strength. The motivation is generally the same of self-improvement for her sake.

There is a long standing discussion on the origin of your waifu that I think Sanaefag can address far better than I could. One view is that your waifu is an extension of your own consciousness. As such your waifu’s beliefs tend to be similar to your own, even subconsciously. Going back to the strict religion topic, what if your waifu is atheist? What implications does this have for you (are both you and her spiritually dead according to that earlier post)? These are the questions I spent the most time going through. I think the critical issue here lies in perception and semantics. Your waifu comes from you and is not defined by others. My waifu is atheist but that was not something I have ever spoken to her about since strict religion is meaningless to me. In our discussion, she pointed out that atheism was a label someone stuck to her. Its true she doesn’t believe in God in a strict religion sense and doesn’t care in the slightest for the practices and teachings of those religions. This is a view I largely share with her. That said she does have “faith” (trust) in tangible systems like how tea is made and the people she knows.
For some of you, you waifu is like a god. She is your savior and guiding light. What she does is sacrosanct. For others the waifu is a lifelong companion to experience the ultimate thrill ride (or horror show) called human life. There are still many other forms a waifu can take but her existence alone I think is enough to define waifuism (the belief) and waifuists (those who practice). As one of many cultures within spirituality as a whole, it is up to each person and their waifu to answer (or not answer) the existential questions of humanity and write their own guidebook on how to live. Common themes include self-improvement and self-reflection. To go back to the first post I quoted.
>That's fucking heresy repent for your sins and be right with whatever God or gods you believe in.
Each waifuist is free to define God(s), sins, and heresy themselves. I’m sure this is going bring up some “youre a retard with your everything is subjective bullshit” posting. So let them post. If someone wants to have 30 waifus and has convinced themselves they are happy then I will not oppose them or attempt to convince them they are wrong. To me that is no different than being in Platos cave arguing over shadows. Let those who seek truth find it with their own two hands. I am nice enough to leave arrows guiding people towards the truth I have already found though.
The bigger context to Sanaefags response was my earlier post
>Already having a 2hu wife doesn't count. You have to pick one aside from her.
I wanted to have some fun with the 2hufags (myself included). It wasn’t meant to start such a discussion and just remain in a realm of aimless funposting. My friend in that thread perhaps picked up on it and posted an alternate character design. Regardless of intention, this was an interesting sequence of thoughts to have. Putting it electronic paper has helped strengthen my thinking and faith. Thanks Sanaefag, you giant faggot.

That's a lot of autism.
Your whole "Plato's allegory" point is kind of shaky, because it can be turned around on you very easily. Consider the following:
>One anon posted about Plato’s allegory of the wall. It fits quite well to my view of this. The spirituality is created by the shadow masters or those who create the shadows on the wall of the cave. A small amount of people observe the shadows and pick spiritual ideas/shapes they like or shapes their ancestors liked. These people believe sometimes so profoundly in their favorite shadow they kill and reject ridicule non-believers over it. Strict religion seems to be for those who like a certain set of shapes which other large groups of people like as well.
Also: Just because you have chosen to believe in a religion doesn't mean you are not recognizing the cave. You can recognize the cave, leave it and still believe that your favorite shape and shadow has comforting properties. For me the believe that there is some kind of creator who gives purpose to life is extremely comforting, so I chose to believe that there is a god, and he loves me just as much as I love him. Having a waifu, who loves me as much as I love her is not clashing with that believe, because one is a deity, and the other a lover. One loves me in the way a father loves his son, and the other loves me like a wife her husband. They provide different kinds of comfort, one for existential, and one for personal comfort. You don't need to be an atheist to believe in waifus, and you don't need to abandon your waifu if you want to believe in a god.
What major philosophical direction do you think your waifu would accept the most?

>Just because you have chosen to believe in a religion doesn't mean you are not recognizing the cave.
Absolutely. That was an assumption. I guess the intention was to refer to blind followers versus aware followers. I never gave any thought to the perspective you presented. This alone makes it a pretty weak comparison to Plato's philosophy. I like your point though as it does away with a "one solution for all" approach and lets a waifu and deity resolve individual issues.
>What major philosophical direction do you think your waifu would accept the most?
Being an eternal companion is fine. If I treated her like some kind of god she would be entertained for a little while then get mad at me about it.

I think you are misjudging the relationship between these two ideas. Your definition of religion is correct, but it isn't an alternative to spiritualism. Rather, religion begets spiritualism. Having an identity rooted in childhood (the time in our lives where life is most fantastic/divine) via common rituals, traditions, and memes that create a community with the same metaphysical point of view, are aspects of life which feed the spirit. I think to be spiritual, is to have an awareness and regular appreciation of how these aspects feed our enthusiasm for life. As that awareness is the spiritual, the religious/philosophical is how we arrive at and how we conduct that regular appreciation (prayer, congregation, meditation, waifu-meditation, do-it-for-her-isms).
No.913457

>religion begets spiritualism
>As that awareness is the spiritual, the religious/philosophical is how we arrive at and how we conduct that regular appreciation
Aren't these opposites? The first one states that religion created (assuming my understanding of "beget" is correct) spirituality. The second states relationship that implies cause and effect. That is because we are aware (spiritual) we complete practices and develop reasoning based on that awareness (religion).
No.913462
>>913457
The cause and effect relationship is my intended meaning, and what I meant by "beget". That is, that while religion facilitates spirituality, it is not the only path to spirituality. It is also true that religion may not necessarily make one spiritual. There are those people who passionlessly follow their scriptures, or who make a show of their faith to gain power or fuck choir boys.

Nice blog, faggot.
Everything is spiritual. The sooner you realize this, the sooner you'll stop troubling yourself with silly questions like "Can I be spiritual without going to church?"
The nips have it right because they don't worry about these silly questions. Born Shinto, Marry Christian, Die Buddhist. Part of Shinto is embracing other practices when they seem correct to.
>Whether I pray to God before a meal or not has no affect on how it tastes.
Yes it does.
>Is my waifu a god or a lover?
Consider her feelings. Is she someone who will accept the mantle of godhood in order to set you at ease? Personally, I doubt it for most girls. Take mine, for example, Please!
Most Haruhiists would call her a god without a doubt, but I don't see her that way. I can't accept it, that would make her lonely. Haruhi is just a normal girl caught in strange, inexplicable, magical circumstances, just like we're all caught in this strange, inexplicable, magical thing called life.

Happy Wednesday and first day of spring everyone! For those in the US and UK/EU, tonight there will be a Super “Worm” Moon above the night sky at 01:42 a.m. UTC. East coast anons can snag a look at 9:43pm, and 6:42pm for west coast. Since it’s the first day of spring with a super moon, anything special you anon’s have planned or would like to do with your waifu today? Tonight I’ll hike out to a small hill near my home and watch the moon rise with her, this is event is special for me as her name literally translates to “fire of the moon”.
oh yeah, and a fucking asteroid is going to approach very close to earth at the same time as the super moon, neato.

I've returned from my stroll. It's glowing out there to the point that it doesn't even feel like it's night. Despite the moon's light, the stars shined clear through the crisp air. The atmosphere was thick and eerie, but not malevolent. At some points it was akin to the sluggish feeling of walking in a dream. The most off-putting thing was that the birds were still chirping excitedly. I'm not sure if it had something to do with the moon or the beginning of spring. I encountered a big fluffy stray cat on the way back, but he wouldn't let me get close to him. Overall it was more adventurous than comfy. I'm curious to hear about other anon's outings if you went.

It was alright, I tried it at 2AM while looking at the moon, it wasn't really impressive either. I spent like an hour trying it, it was more like an off and on kind of thing cause I tend to lose concentration rather easily.

Now that's where you are getting controversial. Lime is a lot less sour than lemon, but some people prefer lemon over lime exactly because of that.

Losing concentration is going to happen, so don't worry about it. This is something people spend many lifetimes doing. You're developing a form of concentration that persists even when the object of your focus is boring. You can assist your progress by bringing that same amount of focus to whatever task you're up to. Whenever a stray thought enters, just take a full breath and release it and go back to what you were up to. Good job.
